does anyone book deluxe, even if just using the room for sleeping?

We stay at the deluxes mainly for convenience. We usually stay at BW or BC so that we can walk to Epcot or HS and we'll take the monorail over to MK. We spend a majority of our time at Epcot and MK so it makes sense for us. We do try to hang out at the resort too but you can't beat the convenience to those parks.

We have done all three level resorts. I must say that it definitely feels more relaxed at a deluxe resort. I also enjoy the surroundings more...maybe that's why it feels so relaxed. We do enjoy the amenities and will swim every day. I also like that the room doors open towards the inside of the building...otherwise it just feels very motel to me (nothing wrong with that, I just prefer the resort feel). I think it may depend on individual feelings and family dynamics. Additionally, I like the access to more than counter service restaurants and the beds are much softer.

The rooms are nicer, even for sleeping, so my husband prefers deluxe. The main thing for us on the deluxes is the location. Husband thinks the best way to get to MK from the boardwalk area is to walk out the front of Epcot and take the monorail! He is not a fan of the buses, yet somehow I convinced him to stay at boardwalk this year with no rental car and a toddler!

We also prefer the interior hallways, though we have stayed at values and moderates as well. Just prefer the deluxe. When we have more kids though, it may be POP for us!
