Does anybody remember this Disney commerical??

I do remember this!!! It was the first trip we took with our DGD to WDW. She was four at the time. We went in October. We drove down in my husband's truck!!! What a trip!!!! Kala saw Mickey for the first time at the welcome center as you cross into Florida. She was so afraid that Mickey would not be able to get to Disney World from there that she insisted that he ride down with us in the truck!!! Mickey assured her, thru his handler, that he would indeed be at ToonTown(? Was it called that then?) and to be sure and come see him there. When we got to the Mk, nothing would do but we had to go and make sure he was there!!! Somehow, and I don't know how it happened, the handler, who was not the same, knew Kala and said to her, "See Mickey is here!!" Talk about Pixi Dust and tears!!!! We have many wonderful memories from that trip. Do you remember at the Garden Grill they were giving out hats?? We have many wonderful souvineers from that trip. We do REMBER THE MAGIC!!! :wizard:

I remember it. It is hard to believe it is ten years old. I remeber having to go to the 25th anniversary. We were still Disney newbies at that time as that trip was only our 4th time. We have probably been around 20 times now.

I remember it clearly. I loved that song and I still do. Can't wait to be there again. Just 37 days.

I forgot about that commercial - love it! Just gave me an idea. I have some pics from going as a kid. I think we'll try to see if we can find some of the same scenes from the pics and take a new pic or one with my daughter. Too neat - thanks for sharing!

I remember the whole remember the magic thing but that commercial I only vaguely remember. But wow, it gave me goose bumps!!! Thanks for sharing. I WANT TO GO BACK RIGHT NOW!

I remember that commercial.

I remember the castle being defiled with that god-awful Pepto-pink fake cake crap.

I remember the phrase (and the song) Remember the Magic being the cornerstone of the entire advertising campaign that year, including a whole new parade created for MK.

I remember my trip in 1996 being one of the best, except for the fact that I was sick most of the week.

I was only 6 years old then! I haven't even gone to WDW for my first time yet...yikes! What a depressing thought. ( :rotfl: )

Thank you for sharing it was nice to see it again. :cool1: :goodvibes :wizard:

i knew RIGHT AWAY that it was the flashback commercial!!! I remember watching it, i was 21, and i thought...man one year that will be me..... taking MY kids on Dumbo for that 1st ride.....

i am getting all teary eyed.... because its going to happen for us THIS YEAR! and the best part, My mum is coming, so its going to be like the grandmother in the commercial on Dumbo. :O)

don't remember, but I have the brass 25th key chain.

Yes...I remember it. I was only in high school. All Disney World commercials are touching. My favorite one on now is the one where a brother and sister are talking in their bedroom and the mom comes in and tells them to go to sleep. The little boy says, "We're too excited to sleep". Then mom goes back to her room and asks her husband if he is awake and he says, "No, I'm too excited to sleep". I think it is great.

One from the past I like is one where a little boy drags his full suitcase into his sister's room and says something (can't remember), then she tells him that they have one or two weeks left before they leave. That one is cute too.

Very good commercial! I really love the "I'm too excited to sleep" commercial. That describes me perfectly on the night before! :goodvibes

They gave out a cassett tape with vacation packages for the 25th anniversry, that song was on it with about 4 other songs. I still have the tape and listen to it every once in awhile. I also have a lot of pictures of the pink cake castle. They also used that song for the MK parade during the 25th anniverary celebration.

We had our Fairy Tale Wedding in July 1997 (opted for the stained glass insert at the Wedding Pavillion to "block out" the puffy castle). I loved the Brian McKnight song from the cassette tape - it was called "Remember the Magic" and we used that for our last dance. The lyrics are so perfect for a wedding...I wonder if anyone else used it.

I vaguely recall the commercial, but I definitely remember the furor of the "Castle Cake". Many thought it was garish, but I liked it and took plenty of pictures. :) It made you appreciate the real castle even more when they restored it.

I, too, like the new commercial with the little boy "too excited to sleep". I didn't make it to Disneyland or WDW at that age. Maybe that's why I have been making up for lost time with frequent visits as an adult. ;)
