Does anybody care? Does anyone want to take up a collection to get her to stay in France since she is "so embarrassed to be an American?"

UGH! Some washed up, has been actresses who haven't made a movie (at least not one that anyone has gone to see) in at least 20 years will do anything for publicity!

  I'm clueless as usual:confused:
What happened??

Well, she starred in "King Kong" (an attraction that used to be at that "other park").

Recently she was in France and made public comments about hating the president, hating the Bush administration, and being "embarassed to be an American" because of the potential military action against Sadam Hussein.

Maybe we can get the Baldwins to help her pack. I'm still waiting for them to move out of the country since the last presidential election. Promises, promises!

I remember her. Didn't she and Mikhail Baryshnikov have a kid together? I guess she's missing her 15 minutes of fame so she's giving herself some bad publicity to make her name well-known.

Ditto what Shannon said. She's hasn't been in a Movie, in what, 20 years??? Yes, her and the "Baldwins" need to LIVE together.

Poly Pal, I saw a clip of her saying those things. That's one way to get your name out there. Some people really know how to grab for the camera.

I'm still waiting for the big hollywood exodus too.

I don't have an opinion on her one way or the other because I didn't see her press conference, nor am I clear about the Bush administration's policies. It seems to me, from what you posted, that she is voicing her opinion against the administration, policies and the prospect of war.

I remember a time during the Vietnam War when people were shouting "America, love it or leave it" at the protestors. The protesters truly loved this country as much as anyone else, they were just standing up for what they believed in.

I guess that's what has to be done now. If you believe strongly, whether you support the administration or not, make sure your voice is heard (like Jessica Lang and you are doing) and make sure you vote. :)

Her and Sam have a house about 35 miles east of Minneapolis in Stillwater. They have about 3 kids that attend school here. Her family is from Minnesota and her sister Anne still lives in the Cities.
She actually won the Best Actress Oscar in 1994 for Blue Sky.

I think she's forgetting that it was AMERICANS who went to her movies and launched her into her career and fame.

Good point, GoofyGirl!

I guess she's too "embarassed to be an American" to remember.

She was also nominated for a Golden Globe in 1997 and has made a film per year since then.

I agree with Saffron. :)

Hmm, well guess what, it's not a crime to disagree with the administration. That's what we fight for in this country, freedom of speech. Lots of people do not agree with the administration's decision to attack Iraq, that does NOT make them "un-American".

Unless she is threatening violence or saying we should overthrow the government I really don't care what she does or does not say. It's her right.

Sure, she has a right to her opinion but was it wise to be so verbal in another country? Reminds me of Diane Feinstein saying she was "embarassed" to wear the American flag on her lapel while in Europe:( As a daughter of a WWII vet I take that very personally.

I remember her. I thought she was a terrific actress.

And I agree with Saffron and Michelle. :)

I'm also embarassed that she's an American.

JMHO

I'm embarassed that she is an American too, olena. It wasn't a good move on her part. Not saying it was "un-American". Just not smart.

I did think she was a good actress.

Agreed WebmasterMichelle, not a crime and she like all Americans have freedom of speech. IMO she can disagree with "the administration's decision to attack Iraq" till the cows come home.
