I want to take some over the counter pain relief for my little uns on VA as a precaution.
I understand I have to decant into 100ml bottles and carry in zip lock plastic bags 8x8.
does anybody know where to get empty bottles this size? I was thinking of seeing if the body shop did 100ml bottles of products that I could use up then wash out.

What type of medication is it? There maybe smaller bottles of it available from a pharmacy if you ask or a tablet/soluable form of it. If not in Boots by the travel toiletries they do small plastic bottles. Or failing that buy it at Boots once you have cleared security :)

We bought some empty bottles from superdrug last year, try there.

Buy the sachets or from Boots after security. Whatever you buy after security you can take on the plane

Beware if you have connecting flights though. When we went to Las Vegas last year we cleared immigration and customs at Washington. We then had to go through a security check again where the 100ml rule was back in force and anything over that was confiscated even though we hadn't actually gone "landside".

May I clarify something then.
Am I right in thinking any size bottle of liquid can be taken on board providing its purchased passed security? Is it sealed in anyway by boots? Is that what makes it acceptable? Or does it still have to be taken on board in 8x8 bags?

Further passenger information

You can fly with everything you buy after security. All shops and catering outlets are open to all passengers before and after security. However, items purchased before security must fit into your ONE item of hand baggage and the restrictions on liquids also apply. After the security check, passengers are able to take all items purchased in the departures lounge onboard the aircraft.

I would be extremely cautious of decanting any medication from it's original container (tablets or liquid) as it could cause complications of it's own (ie incorrect labelling)

Thank you so much Claire, without reading all your links yet it strikes me as a silly billy rule then!
Thanks again.
I love the DIS!

The rules can be quite strict, and may seem silly, but considering what I know and what could of happened last year I am glad they are there.

Claire ;)
