I was wondering if anybody else here "Flys"? I started doing it last year and it was the best thing I ever did! I have since "fallen off the wagon" and despertley need to get back at it. I figured since I spend most of my time here, perhaps a support group could be started.
For those who do not know what flying or flaylady is, trust me, she could change your life! My life was so organized and so in control when I was doing good. I really need to get back at it.
here's a link to her website if you want to see what it's all about!
So...is anyone interested??????
We can be accountable for each days missions and report on products and ideas that work for you. Thanks!!

Ack! That website alone stressed me out. I'll do my flying on airplanes, thanks.

Besides, I'm "detail oriented" (which my boss told me recently is the PC way of saying that other word which refers to...ummmm...a body part that isn't functioning "regularly"), so I'm overly-organized, anyway.

Tonight I have a pretty big project, but I'm watching Rain Man at the same time. My parents taught me when I was a kid to get a few chores done (or started) during commercials, and by the time the movie was over, they'd be just about done. It's always worked for me!

I subscribe does that count!;) I do try and keep my sink clean at the very least. I was working in the Master Bedroom this week.
My SIL started it 2 months ago and she loves it!!!

BTW the Calendar FLYLADY sells is the best, so if you are looking for a nice big calendar for the holidays, its great.

I found about about "flying" last year when someone posted on this board. I passed on the website to my sister and she loves it! I have never seen her house so organized in my life. I work full-time, so it is a little harder but I try to keep up when I can. My sister will e-mail me at work everyday a few of the emails that she gets. It is enough to get me motivated.

I like the idea and signed up. I have been getting e-mails for about a week now. I wasn't sure what to expect but now I get SO MANY e-mails daily that I find myself just deleting them without reading! I wish it was just one e-mail in the morning with a list of what needs to be accomplished that day! How do you all handle the e-mails? I thought how am I supposed to get anything done when I have to keep coming back to the computer to read what to do next? I don't need the same e-mails practically every day asking me if my sink is shining, do I know where my shoes are, and reminding me to go to bed?!?! Please share how you make FLY work for you!

I used to "fly" but also have fallen off the wagon. I'd love to get back on.

The emails can be truly overwhelming! I did better when I just set a goal for the week. In the beginning, it was just to shine up my sink every evening and do 15 minutes in whatever zone we were in daily. Then I started to incorporate her idea of lightly cleaning the bathroom while you're in it each morning - worked great! I unsubscribed from the emails or just deleted many of them, like the hot spots, shoes, etc.

I'd be interested in starting slow and doing just 15 minutes a day. It really did help and my house is NOT pretty at the moment.....LOL!

I too have fallen off the wagon and need to get back on! The holidays are approaching and my house needs some attention...quick too...my DMom is coming! YIKES the queen of clean in my home!

Anyway...I didn't want to subscribe to the emails either so I just printed out what needs to be done for the zone and follow that. Then I will look in and see what the special missions are.

Thanks for inspiring me!

It was an interesting web site. I am one of those people who will start something and then fall off the wagon!!

I wish I could commit to something like that.

Well then, I think perhaps for all of us who have fallen off the wagon we shuld start up. How's tomorrow sound (Monday). We don't need to go full force, afterall she says baby steps.

As far as the emails, yes they were annoying at first, the ones about shoes, laundry, your bed, but you know what, they actually helped. Call me strange, but I felt accountable to them. When I looked at one and it said "where are your shoes" I would reply back (in my head) "on my feet!" To me, it made a difference. I don't open them I just read the subject (the reminder ones).
I turned my sister onto this website months back and the difference for her is amazing. Her DH thanks me all the time! LOL

So....what do you say fellow lagging flybabies...is Monday the day? It will still give us time to get it together and back on track by Christmas. I know my life ran smoother when I was flying!!!

I have actually thought about this and kept procrastinating..maybe this will be an incentive! I really need some help in this dept so I'll sign up!

Can you unsubscribe from just specific e-mails (like the shoes for instance) without having it unsubscribe you from everything?

I'm all for a renewed effort to make this work!

I don't think you can...I think you just get them all.

So, we start tomorrow, right???

I'm trying some of her approach but I have not subscribed to the emails yet. I don't want to feel to overwhelmed at first.

I already do some of what she has on the web site and it does work for me. I just need some reminding about decluttering and cleaning more often.

I already get up at 5am before everyone else in the house. I have a morning routine of things I do to prepare for the day. I only have an hour because I need to leave for work at 6:00 - 6:10am. In that time I get dressed, comb & fix hair, brush & whiten teeth, apply make up. Get husbands clothes ready. Pack two lunches, take the dog out for morning business. Straighten up the living room. Feed & change the baby. Wake husband. Sometimes depending on night before make bottles for baby. Pack diaper bag.

Have night time routine also.

Count me in! I'll subscribe to the emails again - I feel like it's nagging, but it does really help me. However, my goal for this first week will be to keep my sink shining and to work 15 minutes in the Zone each day.

I think posting what I accomplish (or fail to accomplish) each day will help me a lot!

Okay so I forgot.
I sat Friday night for my quite time after dinner and read her website pretty thoroughly.
I then was motivated to go the basement and set up the shelp set I had bought like 3 or 4 weeks ago.
The shelves are for my stock pile of extra groceries that I get free or really cheap
I already have shelves in the basement but they are full so I needed more.
I had bags of groceries all over the basement, laundry room, and garage floor with no where for them to go
Okay so then I emptied all the bags and arranged the food on the shelves.

Noticed the basement is a mess. Had DD go back to the basement with me to straighten up the toys, books, games etc.
used flylady 27 fly thing rule where you are supposed to throw out 27 items. I just modified it to a kitchen garbage & filled it in the basement of stuff to go.

Saturday I had to work 4 hrs. Went to Kohl's because they were giving out $15 gift cert to first 500 customers at each store. I was there by 6am & got three xmas gifts Was at work by 7:30 worked till 11:30 am. Came home made lunch and cleaned up.
Then advised family we would be spending the afternoon outside as it was a beautiful sunny 60 degree day.

At 12:30 we went outside. DH weeded and pruned flower bed. I cleaned out my mini van. Okay admitted relunctantly there were more bags of food in the back of the van plus xmas gifts that were there for a month already. emptied van cleaned entire inside, removed rugs and vaccumed. cleaned all the toys out. completely detailed the van. Dh also cleaned out the garage since the food bags were gone.

It took us until about 4:00 pm. We all were tired actually exhausted. Oldest DD helped with all the chores and baby slept.
I was so tired but I felt like I had accomplished something.

Now I need to get into the routine of spending 15 in zone or whatever.

Need some motivation. I hate cleaning bathrooms. Yuck. Hate cleaning out the refrig. sometimes I can con DH into cleaning out the refrig.

Major projects left to do. 70% of xmas shopping remains to be done - 100% of wrapping - clean entire house so we can decorate. My parents come from out of town to spend the week with us for xmas so entire house needs to be done.
