Does any CM or any one know?

And its quite obvious to me that the simple thought of having any type of fun outside the box creates problems with EVERYONE. It was just a question, and obviously I have my answer from the swarms of complaining people about the prospect of me even thinking about taking something of the nature to Disneyworld. So at this point I will not comment anymore on this thread. I really apologize if this has offended anyone. Like I said before my intent wasn't to ruin your visit, but to enhance mine!

Posters here are just pointing out that your "fun" will impact others.

You seem to only be concerned about what your family will enjoy.

FWIW OP, you didn't offend me, and I certainly didn't mean to complain about it. I couldn't care less what you do in Disney World, or anywhere else (well, as long as you don't shoot me in the eye). Certainly, if Disney gives the go ahead on it, then by all means enjoy yourself.

I don't really think that the clean up is an issue, as OP stated, Disney is already out there with vacuums and brooms cleaning up a TON of debris after the parades and fireworks shows, a little extra confetti isn't going to present a huge problem, I just don't think that they will allow the device into the park more for safety concerns.

How ever, I find it interesting that you asked the question in the first place, which indicates that you had some reservations about whether it would be allowed, or be a good idea, then when pretty much everyone agrees on the answer you get defensive about it. If hearing what people really think presents a problem, then perhaps you shouldn't have asked the question.

Agreed. The initial question didn't offend me.

However the "Well, what about MY fun?" insistence really does. I tend to side with the poster who wondered that just BEING at Disney isn't enough "fun" anymore.

Disney might beat you to it! I've not been on a holiday like the 4th of July, but I would think that this would be one of the Days that Disney might shoot of its own Confetti Cannons! If you saw the pics of the Drew Breese Parade, they had confetti.

My guess would be no.:confused3

To be honest, I didnt mean to cut off the quote. But to answer your question about the clean up. I personally think that the mess it would make wouldnt be any more than the popcorn that is spilled over at the end of every parade. Or the shaped confetti that is sprinkled over kids heads and thrown in the street anyway. And maybe its wrong to think that the disney street vacume could take care of it, since they will be running it anyway. But like I said it was just a thought.

When your fun makes my fun go away then it is a problem. Do what you want in your own back yard. Then you can clean it up and I won't have my fun ruined by your out of the box fun.

I'm sure the OP is just having fun with us :rotfl:

I'm sure no one thinks its okay to make that big of a mess at Disney

Disney doesn't even sell gum because it doesn't want to clean it up, of course no cannons, no one would ever need to ask :rotfl:

I worked the 4th of July Fireworks/Parade in 2004. You cannot imagin the crowds unless you have been there. 4th of July is one of our busiest days. We call it a "phase 4" day, that means that the park is filled to capacity. When it was time for the fireworks on Main Street, we had to close down the Teacups bridge because Main Street was filled to capacity. We are talking shoulder to shoulder people, you literally could not move at all. We had to open up our alternate exit which goes behind Toontown and Main Street just so people could leave the park.

Now imagine something that big. It's dark, all the lights are off because of the fireworks. Somebody sees you pull out something large like that, they see an explosion, and hear a pop. The wrong person sees that and panics. You could have a very dangerous situation on your hands. (Of course, chances are that wouldn't happen, but you never know). You also have something that is going to shoot out a substance at high rates of speed in a very tightly packed area. There is a chance, slim though it is, that it could cause injury to nearby guests.

Of course, there is also the issue of cleanliness. After the fireworks, people drop whatever they have. Food, wappers, bags, etc. I have never seen so much trash in my life. Main Street is literally carpeted in trash. Custodial does an awesome job cleaning up between fireworks and the parade, but this would just create a ton more work for them.

My guess is that the official answer will be no, but even if it's not, it's just a plain bad idea.

But....but....but.... what about all the fun thinking outside of the box!!!!;)

Why don't you try calling

Disney Legal Department, call (407) 828-1750

I'm sure they will have a definitive answer for you.

And I have to ask, how would you clean up the mess you create?

Actually, Legal has absolutely nothing to do with something like this. The department you need to call is Security, as they make those decisions.

Just ... FYI.

:earsboy:

OP, no one was offended by the question. That's what the DIS is for. It was an interesting, unusual question, and I think it was smart of you to ask instead of just bringing this thing into the park.

The other posters were just giving reasons why this plan might not work out the way you think it will, regardless of whether Disney allows the cannon into the park. I know it wasn't what you wanted to hear, but better to know now that people probably won't react well, than to have an unpleasant scene in the MK.
