Does an infant need a seat in reservation?

I made a reservation for 2 people at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall but we also have an infant with us. Will they let all of us in ? The child is actually 2 years old but tiny in size, and she would need a highchair.
In other reservations I have put 3 people but made a mistake here and I cannot find other available times for us anymore (it's for New Year's Eve).

YOu must include ALL persons in the reservation, regardless of their age. this would be the case even if the child was 1 day old and a parent held it the entire time. While you have a reservation for 2, you unfortunately have a party of 3.

Since it's New Years Eve I think you should call them and have them help you possibly find a reservation for 3. In most cases unless the restaurant is at full capacity for fire codes, they will allow extra persons in, but if ever a restaurant is going to reach full capacity it would probably be on New Years Eve.

You have to count every person, no matter how small. Keep checking for a party of 3 to open up. Otherwise you run the risk of not getting seated, and having to pay the no show fee. I think the odds are not good of getting seated with an extra guest on New Years Eve.

As the pp's said, everyone must be included in the count, regardless of how small the child is. I would keep checking every day multiple times a day for an ADR for 3 as you could get turned away if they can't accommodate the extra person. Good luck.

I've asked this before for restaurants like BoG and Ohana during fully booked times. Our last trip we had a party of 9 to accommodate and I found on these boards many people were very wary.

Our experience directly with 2 separate managers on site in restaurant said adding an infant has NEVER been an issue. This is direct from the BoG manager. I asked about fire codes and he said they seat accordingly and rarely to they have to turn anyone away. He also pointed out that several parties of 3 take up the 4 spots so fire codes rarely are an issue. He instructed us to book 4 parties of 2 then when we came he accommodated us.

At 1900PF they told me at the desk that actually they adjust when you have an infant to not a party of 4 but of 3.

Needless to say we have eaten daily at TS over every one of my 6 trips and never have had an issue with adding a person which I generally do as we know people down there and randomly have someone join us at Ohana or BoG. Also my last Akershus I only booked 3 because my DS wasn't on MDE as a glitch as an infant and it made zero difference. They didn't even blink.

I'm glad you had such good luck, but it was just that, luck. There is a current CM who posts on this subject quite frequently. They will tell you an extra guest will be seated if at all possible. However, it is never guaranteed, and shouldn't be how you go about getting that hard to get ADR.

I am in the same dilemma. I made all of our dining reservations way back in June for this December not even thinking about our group would have a brand new baby born in the meantime. All I know to do now is pray that the ADR gods will smile upon us once we get there.If not, I may have to wait outside and let someone bring out a doggie bag.

Don't wait. Keep checking on line, new ADRs open up all of the time! Showing up with an extra guest should be your last resort.

I'm happy you got most of them taken care of.

I disagree a bit with the CM you spoke with--they are not the ones at the restaurants handling the ADRs. Usually restaurants can accommodate extra guests, but it is not a given. The phone CMs have no control over who can be seated or who can't be. It is still best if you keep checking before your trip, then you won't have any doubt at all!
