Does AKL ever get a better discount ?

Since AKL is the only deluxe which has a bus to all Parks and DTD, do you think they give better discounts to guests than other WDW deluxe resorts ?

Maybe AKL is not in as much demand as YC/BC, WL, or the MK deluxe resorts, Poly,GF and CR ?

In 2003, I got an AP rate of $129/night. Then the same year, got an AP rate of $259/night for a club deluxe room for Dec 26th - Jan 2nd. Really a big discount - I think most folks were paying over twice what we were that trip!

As it is, AKL and WL both are the lowest priced deluxe resorts and so the discounted rates are also usually the lowest.

Last December we got AKL for $129 a night and got a free upgrade to savanna view room. We've never paid rack rate for AKL with the highest being $150.00; all had free upgrades to savanna view rooms.

We got an AP rate in September of $145 and got a free upgrade to Sunset Savanna view. The AP rates were the only way we've been able to stay at a Deluxe at all.

That isn't true. We recieved a deal last January that was only at SSR. Now I know why, but that's beside the point (would never stay there again).

I can't vouch for the other posters deals, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible!

Thats cause its a DVC resort. They wont do a discount at one deluxe over another, especially one as popular as AKL

The way I understand it is as follows:

AKL and WL already have the lowest deluxe rates, so any rate reduced by let's say 30% will still be the lowest rate.

I think they do not give a higher percentage discount on certain resorts, but rather limit availability of discounted rooms. For example, BC has lots of rooms booked already, but AKL has not, they will make more rooms under the discount available at AKL in order to get a better distribution of guests. I think they also do that with regard to certain room categories. In my experience pool view rooms at AKL are quite difficult to get with a discount.

The AP discount for Jan.-Feb. is a straight $96 for deluxe resorts, which means that it is a different percentage discount at each resort and for each room category. For instance, it is a 40% discount off of std. view at AKL and WL, but 33.7% off of courtyard vw. at WL, 31.5% off savanna vw. at AKL. You get a 24% discount off garden vw. rooms at the GF, but only a 19% discount for MK vw. A 28.7% discount for BC std. vw., a 27% discount for Poly std. vw. Etc., etc.

There have been times in the past few years where an AP discount was offered that did not include the MK resorts.
