Does AirTran change schedules a lot?

We were booked with a flight departing at 9:30am and arriving at about 11:30am. On departure day we were flying out at 6pm.

I just got an email that it changed. Now we arrive at 10am (YEA!) and don't leave until 8:30pm (YEA, YEA, YEA!).

I'm pretty pleased with the new schedule but don't want to get too comfortable with what I think we can manage to do on these days if it's just going to change again.

Our schedule changed recently too - for the better. However, Air Tran has a history of changing flight times frequently. Now that they are merging with Southwest, I am hoping that the multiple flight time changes are a thing of the past. I will be keeping my fingers crossed.

It also depends on what airport you fly out of. I have never had a major schedule change flying out of BWI. It's only ever been just by a couple of minutes

That's good that they changed in your favor. One time I was set to book my return flight and they changed it from evening to 9:00am! Only non-stop of the day. I ended up booking another airline because I was essentially giving up a day of vacation.

Flying out of Milwaukee in June and ours has gone from a 7am departure, to 7:45am, and now 8:45am. Our return time hasn't changed at all.

We flew AirTran in late April. I booked the flight in early February and the schedule never changed. I read somewhere that AirTran often changes non-stop flights to flights with layovers and that's what I worried most about. We did wind up having our flight out of MCO diverted to ATL due to a cracked windshield but that was obviously not planned.

I also got an e-mail that our return fight moved back a half--hour. I am hoping that is the only flight change we have. We are flying out of PHL.

We booked in November for our mid-June flight out of Detroit. Originally, our departure time was 11:35am. It has moved only once and now it departs at 11:18am. Since we leave in three weeks, I don't anticipate it changing any further, but I still check it every day.

If you book when the schedule first comes out (5-6 mos in advance) you are likely to see 2-3 changes. Usually they are less than an hour or so, but we've had a few whopper changes where I called them and forced them to give me a refund (changes of 6+ hours).

Once you get to about the 2 months out point, your flight times should be pretty well set.

My departure out of Milwaukee in October has changed twice, too. Our return flight has changed just once. Of course, it is only May. There's still time to rack up a few more changes.

I'm happy with the 8:45 am departure. It was 7:35 am for awhile for us and that was getting to be way too early for me but we kept it.

Coming home we leave at 5 pm now, about 2 hours earlier than originally. But that's okay as we usually get to the airport by about 3 pm anyway for the later departures. Now I just HAVE to be there at that time.

My guess would be on June 4th. The same day Southwest releases their dates
