So, its only 13 days and counting and we have yet to receive any documents or cabin assignment ( we booked at Cat 10 guarantee)...is this normal? And why do they wait so long....I would love to know what 2 cabins I have beeen assigned too!
Did you call DCL and if so what did they say? We have a GTY for the May repo cruise and I know I will be going nuts not knowing. Please keep us informed as to how this plays out for you.
Called DCL...they said, call your TA. TA said this is the latest norm for them and nothing they could do....very common to get docs about 10 days before sailing...way close!!!
Disney Cruise Line works on the Guarantee status' last, so it is very common that you get your final travel documents right before you leave on your vacation. The consumer nor travel agent can control this.
It could be worth the wait - you may receive an upgrade!
I hope I don't have to wait that long to get my docs! We're booked as a category 6 guarantee on the 7/9/05 West Coast sailing, and we're leaving for CA on 7/2/05. I better have them by then!
Whats worse is if you arent home when they try to deliver....like I wont be...I work 2 jobs and are rarely home nor do I have time to run around and find where UPS or FED EX is and pick them up....AND....I too, am leaving for Florida a couple days ahead of the cruise.... AND....booked through a TA. So with all that figured into it....I will be lucky if I get my docs at all...lol
It's only been recently that the documents have been going out later than usual. It could very well be because of the holidays that it's taking longer.
While no amount of pleading can get them to send them sooner, they can let you know if they've been issued.
TooPure, if you're getting them sent directly from DCL, they only use UPS and they usually leave the box at your doorstep.
Mine are coming from my TA but I called Disney earlier to talk about excursions and she told me to just have the TA send them to my job...great idea!!!!!
We booked a cat 12 gty for the 1/6 Wonder. My TA emailed to say that our docs were shipped by DHL 2 day last Wednesday. We haven't gotten them yet. Held up because of a snow storm. I'm dying to see which cabin we've been assigned.
We are on the Jan 6 Wonder and we received docs on Thursday of last week.
Our docs had our original Cat 9 room assignments that we got at booking, but when I had checked our online ressie it showed us having 2 Cat 6 verandah cabins.
I called DCL and they said we did indeed have the verandah cabins and to disregard the Cat 9 cabins listed on our docs. They said to fill out the luggage tags with the new cabin numbers!!
So what I gather by reading these posts is that you may not necessarily have the same cabin # that is given on your confirmation??
Just wondering because we have a category 7 (I think), which is the stateroom with verandah.
I booked directly through Disney, so is there any chance that we would get moved up??
Category 7 cabins have the Navigator's verandah which is an enclosed verandah with a giant porthole. There is always a chance for an upgrade...though no one should count on them because they come few and far between. We should all book with what we will be happy with and then if upgraded....shout hooray and thank the upgrade gods!!! We were very surprised and happy about the upgrade but I think it had a lot to do with our sailing being not that full.
I checked with Disney and they said they are backlogged because of a printing problem, and that my docs should be sent to me today or tomorrow for my Jan 13th cruise. We leave the 8th for WDW. Too close for my liking!
