ok....we are leaving in 3 weeks....and our documents just arrived yesterday and it says for our flight that we have a stop in ohio!! all the times that we have gone on these land/sea vacations we have never had a stop....so we called the travel agent and she got back to us saying that it would cost more money to get a non stop flight....by the way we paid close to 400 dollars a person already for these flights! thats crazy....also we have an infant and its hard to get up off the plane go switch planes....and having an extra hour for her to be fussy....and have flying trouble....so i wanted to know if anyone had a disney number that they would actually listen to us...rather than the regular number on their site....if anyone can help me with this that would be great!! thanks again

I noticed you are from Plymouth, so I am assuming you fly out of Logan. Whenever we go to Florida we use Song airlines. We fly out of Bradley. We are using them for our upcoming cruise in January. There are 5 of us and it is about $200 per person, direct flight. If it's not too late, you could look into changing your flights. The price difference was the reason we didn't book our air through Disney. Good luck!!

I'm not sure if I can help you, but maybe I can help someone else.

If you want control over your flights, BOOK THEM YOURSELF. While there may be advantages to booking them through DCL or a travel agent, you do lose control over stops, departure times, etc. And you lose the opportunity to shop for bargain fares.

This same issue has been posted about before.....DCL never guarantees a direct flight when you book air with them. Yes, there is the convenience of letting them do all the work...but in the long run we have always found it easier to book ourselves and have control over our flight times.

Not to bring you down, but I don't see too much hope for DCL switching you to another flight at this late date.

You were just lucky on your previous land/sea vacations that you did have direct flights...this time you were not.

thankyou everyone for your responses...does anyone know any kind of number in which i can contact disney about this??...i figured it was too late...but just to give it a try you know...so if anyone can help with a number that would be great thanks

oh and does song fly out of providence....do you know of?? because we rather take providence...but if not thats also a posiblity thanks so much

Since you know what airline you are on, can you call the airline and ask them if you could change flights without a fee? That is, change flights yourself without using Disney?

ok thanks everyone so much...ya we tried going through the travel agent but that didnt seem to do much cause we wanted to talk to disney about it....but thanks everyone for you replies....and ill have to check out that song flight from logan...thanks!!

When you buy the air thru a cruise line the cruise line has direct discretion over what is booked. There are two ways the client can control the flights. One is to book themselves, the other is to do what is a called an Air Deviation with the cruise lines. This usually has to be done when booked and it an additional cost of between $50-75 per person. They may also charge an additional cost if the flights you want are more than what they have contracted for.

Cruise lines are famous for putting people on whatever! Most of the time it is a computer assigning flights and they just scatter the reservations among the airlines to keep the airlines happy.

At this point there isn't anything really that the travel agent can do. It is out of their hands.

Hi - I'm in RI and we just did the land/sea package during Easter week. The only direct flight out of Greene Airport in Providence is Southwest - and it books up immediately. Whenever we want a direct flight to Orlando, we have flown out of Logan in Boston, but I hear even they are having few direct flights now. This past time we flew out of Green, with a change in Atlanta, and on the way back had a change in Cincinnati. As much as I hate connecting flights, this wasn't bad at all. We were only one gate away each time, and had less than an hour layover. We flew Delta. Our TA told us that since 9/11, many flights have been cancelled, so there are few direct flights anymore.

I think you are out of luck this time. Unless you pay the $50 deviation fee, you are at their mercy. Hopefully it won't be too bad.:(

Ya we have always had non stop flight while disney booking them....we go on the cruise or disney every year and have never had a connecting flight....im gonna try and see whats going out of logan.....but we always fly delta...and we have flown delta straight through from providence recently.....so there are flights out there!! hopefully we can rearrange ....but thanks for everyones input!!
