Doctor's that push drugs!!

My DS dated a doctor's daughter and she said that every night of the week her dad could go to a dinner paid for by the drug companies and that as they walk through the door, each is paid 100.00 cash. Now that's not a ton of money/night but it equals about 36,000/year.
Also,we went to dinner at this doctor's house and my DH made a comment about the nice BBQ pit-it was a gift from a drug company.
All of this doesn't bother me until the docs start pushing drugs-you have to wonder why they are so in favor of 1 drug over another.
Because of this, our family has a local dr. for emergencies but we travel 60 miles to see a doctor for anything else. He believes in preventive medicine, vitamins, and minerals to replace what our depleted food supply can't provide. Our health has never been better. My DH used to have a gray complexion because of allergies, now he's pink and so healthy!!
I think it depends on your location. My doctor is with a clinc that alway has have sudies for new drugs. Every vist he is talking about something new on the market. My next step is to find a "DO" ,"MD"

our medical practice does'nt do samples-they don't even do the little cans of formula that used to be the norm for pediatric patients. i wish they still had some of them-used to be if you had strep throat and went to urgent care in the evening they could give you the first couple doses so you could get it started before the pharmacy reopened the next day.

I was really glad to be done with this one doctor that I had...I went to her originally because I was always tired on weekday mornings. She made me go for a sleep study, then because it was inconclusive, she decided that I was depressed and I needed meds. Okay, so I took those. Then I developed hypertension. So she prescribed another pill. Then I started to get bloated and retain water. Yep, you guessed it...ANOTHER pill.

Then she closed her practice. I went to another doctor...was evaluated by 3 psychiatrists as well, who determined that I was NOT depressed. I'm simply not a morning person. So I went off the AD...everything went back to normal. Now I'm on nothing and I feel fine. Still have trouble getting up at 6:30 a.m., but when I can sleep from 2 to 9 a.m., no problems.

I look for a new Dr.

Same thing happened to me. Talked to me 2 min. MAX!!! and recommended I go on an antidepressant! Oh, and it will help me lose weight. That was her recommendation. Last time I ever went to her.
