What pier does the Wonder use on the Pac Coast cruise? 27? 35? Trying to do some planning and I can't find a reference for this.

Thanks! That's only ~3 miles to the Disney museum. Seems better to Uber there, pay the $25 entrance fee and spend quality time there rather than shell out $90 for their shorex and a bus ride.

I was thinking the same thing. We toured Alcatraz last time so I am hoping to visit the museum, too. We will probably do the same.

I looked at the port calendar and it does say Pier 35. But it very well may vary from year to year since they don't stop there regularly. We did this itinerary in 2015 and were at 35.

the two are about 1/3 mile apart .... either way it is about 3 miles to the Walt Disney Family Museum in the Presidio (former Army Base)

We were at pier 27 in 2018. Perhaps it varies from cruise to cruise?

You can check on the Port of San Francisco’s website. They post the schedule for which ships will be at which docks, and they are the final authority.

If you are staying in the city, I would definitely not bother with a Disney excursion.
Public transit is easy, cabs/lyft are everywhere.

Note: Alcatraz tickets can sell out pretty early!

If you want to go further afield (Monterey/Muir Woods/Sausalito/wine country) it might be safer to do a Disney excursion.

I can confirm Alcatraz sells out early. We were on the May 2019 DVC Member's Cruise with the Disney excursion (SF04) to Alcatraz and bus tour of the city (modified tour, the bus kept changing course if a homeless tent site was on the normal route. It was stop, look, and make a determination if he was going on that street) to Sausalito. When we arrived the ticket booth showed "SOLD OUT for Today".

I kind of wondered if DCL offered an excursion to the Disney Family Museum given the strained relations between the Disney family and the Walt Disney Company. We cruised Celebrity with an overnight stop in San Francisco in October. Celebrity didn't offer that excursion. If you are a Disney geek like I am, the museum is amazing. Just don't expect a Disneyland like experience.
As I live 100 miles from San Francisco, I've made more trips there than I can count, and I HATE HATE HATE driving there. Being docked right in the middle of the action and being able to walk everywhere was a treat. My wife and I are big walkers, so walking to the Disney Family Museum would be doable, but Uber would probably we a better idea. My pedometer shows we walked 6+ miles our second day in San Francisco. We docked at the Cruise Ship Terminal, Pier 27 which is the one next to the Alcatraz tours. Pier 35 is further down, didn't realize cruise ships docked there. We walked down to Ghirardelli square for lunch.

We had previously stayed at the Lodge next door to the museum. And proceeded to spend almost 6 hours there our first time. You really have to take your time to fully experience the museum. But still looking forward to even a short trip.

There is a free shuttle from downtown SF to the Presidio, with a stop near the museum. PresidioGo
So you could take the F Trolley from Pier 27 or 35 to downtown, then the free shuttle.

Wow, that is so great to know! Really appreciate this info!!

So you take a trolley downtown so you can take a shuttle from there to the a stop "near the museum" in the Presidio? That's a lot of traveling out of the way.

Well, you would get a chance to visit the landmark Ferry Building downtown (see the map), but yeah if you're severely time constrained as on a cruise it might be a problem. Our last visit to Frisco 😉 I had the whole day to burn so walked much of the trip there and back, but did use PresidioGo. As for "near the museum", the stop is on the opposite side of the parade grounds, within sight of the museum, maybe 100 yards away.

I should also mention that you can buy the 1 Day Muni pass via the MuniMobile app at a discount from the regular price - $13 vs $24 if you stand in line for a paper ticket. That covers cable cars and Muni including the F Trolley. Or you can get a $5 day pass without cable cars. As I remember, MuniMobile app was kind of a pain to set up, but that's a decent discount and a time saver.

Just be aware that in the summer the line for the cable cars can be VERY long.
Like, an hour or more.

(I'm a local and don't quite get the appeal. I mean, they are pretty cool, but not for that wait!)
