Doc; Memories of a buddy, a family member **a few thoughts added, pages 5 & 8**

Dan - I'm so sorry. You were such a wonderful friend and companion to Doc. You were both so lucky to have each other. My thoughts and prayers are with you through such a difficult time right now.

What a beautiful tribute to such a sweet, sweet boy.

What a beautiful boy!!! There are no comforting words, but, being a dog owner myself, it has to be the hardest thing to do.

:grouphug:

What a beautiful tribute to your friend. I am so sorry for your loss.

Oh, Dan, I'm so very sorry. I'm crying with you...brought so many memories back of our Maggie. :( It's so hard.

The pictures you have shown us are just beautiful.

Dan- I am so, so sorry for your loss of Doc. What a beautiful tribute you posted. He sure was lucky to have all of that love and the opportunity for the best care possible. All animals should be so lucky.

Our sympathies go out to you and your family on the loss of your beloved pet!

Dan, I'm so sorry to hear Doc is gone. He was such a handsome boy -- I know you'll all miss him. :grouphug:

Dan,

What a wonderful memorial to "Doc". We are all thinking of you all, and "Doc", on this day. Thank you for sharing with us.

I am so sorry for your loss. They sure do become a part of the family, don't they?
What a beautiful and proud looking dog! Thank you so much for sharing his pictures.
I can tell he was so loved and he knew it too.

What beauitful dogs that were there greeting Doc at the Rainbow Bridge. I know they are running and playing free

Again I am sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

I only read the op and I am sitting here crying. My little Minnie was diagnosed with lympoma (she's a Siamese cat) last July at the age of 13 months old. She had 16 chemo treatments and has been in remission. She has a 3 month check up on Monday and I am nervous.

I am so sorry to hear about Doc. I've followed his story and I know how hard this is.

I am so sorry.

Your photos show that Doc, was indeed, a good dog.

....Tell us how your son adopted Doc. Was he a rescue? Did your son have experience with rotties before he adopted Doc?

herc
Not sure exactly where Vince got Doc, either a breeder or a shop, though do know he was not a rescue. And I do not think Vince had any special experience with Rotties prior to his getting Doc, at least that I am aware of.

When Vince moved out his first time, back almost eight years ago, he was out of the house (ours) for about three or so months before he thought of moving back for a time (guess that is the routine with most kids :)) When he returned, he was bringing back with him a new king size bed and a three or so month old Rottweiler puppy, little Doc. I recall, and we still joke about it now, and often, (just did this AM with Marie), how, when the move back was in process, I asked, "How the heck are you going to fit that (the giant bed) in your room?", and, having felt we were at that time quite removed from the commitment of another dog, "Where is the dog going to go?" The three of them, Vince, Natalie and Marie all jokingly said, "Oh, we'll just leave the puppy out of the move." I, then somewhat a stick-in-the-mud, acquiesced to his moving in with us. Little did I know that Doc would grow so attached to my heartstrings over the ensuing years, part of my life, along with all of ours. I am so thankful for Vince bringing Doc into our lives, and he so misses his buddy now.

And a word of thanks to all the kind words here from everyone. So much appreciated. I will be later be sending this on to Vince so he can be comforted likewise by your good wishes and thoughts.

For all those who know the pain of losing a friend like Doc, and those who will, my very best wishes to you all too. May the memories of all these creatures of God be with you for all your lives, to again meet someday. We are so blessed to have them for the short times that we do.

I´m so sorry Dan. What a wonderful tribute.

Oh Dan, this has me in tears. :sad1: :sad1:

I know what a good friend Doc has been to you. :( I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Oh Dan, I'm sitting here crying as I read this. I've been following Doc's progress over the last couple of years, and it's sad to see that he lost his battle. I know Doc was a cherished member of your family, as are all dogs; they're just like our children. :grouphug: to you and your family.

Oh Dan Im so sorry :( I know how much Doc meant to your family. You all took such good care of him and I know he knew how much he was loved!

:grouphug: Sounds like Doc had a wonderful life with people who took real good care of him. Sorry to hear he left so soon :(

Claire
