Do you wrap your stocking stuffers?

I go back and forth. This year I just may wrap if I have the special santa wrapping paper left over. Next year since dd may question the handwriting- I'll will make the tags on the computer. for now- I hide the santa paper and tags and they are none the wiser!

I like the idea of slowing the kids down. LOL!

But I don't wrap what is in the stockings. Only inexpensive, small gifts go in there. Anything that I consider wrap-worthy doesn't go in a stocking.

Oh thats too funny. No offense to anyone who does this but I certainly wouldnt bother.

We dont wrap stocking stuffers, as a matter of fact when my husband and I were new to the parent thin we would argue about wrapping the presents that Santa left. I grew up that Santa didnt wrap and he grew up that Santa did. I won

When I was a kid I loved coming down the stairs and seeing all those wonderful presents in the living room just waiting for me to play with them.
Sheesh it takes long enough to put half of it together and dont even get me started on the twist ties and safety devices on this stuff. Now add in wrapping each and every one? No way not for me.

LoveWDW that's exactly what I was going to say!! I totally agree. I don't really love wrapping anyway so I certainly don't want to wrap itty bitty stuff! Merry Christmas everyone!

This post is so entertaining! I've enjoyed reading everyone's traditions. My mom never wrapped our stocking stuff, but for some reason I have always wrapped all my girls stocking stuff, and their Santa presents. I love the idea of Santa wrapping paper, I need to remember that for next year. I do have a funny stocking story though. When my sister and I were teenagers(non-believers), my Mother took a pair of pantyhose and each of us got a leg for our stocking! She hung them over the ceiling fan, they practically drug the floor when they were stuffed with goodies! We would get makeup, soaps, loofas, hairbrushes, all girlie kind of stuff. I still laugh when I think of our "special" stockings, especially the sight of them in the middle of the living room on Christmas morning.

In our house this is how it works: Santa doesn't wrap his gifts. Stocking stuffers (limited to 3, to represent the 3 that the Christ child got), are wrapped in red paper tied with a grosgrain black ribbon. Mrs. Claus leaves a gift (started when I was a divorced Mom, usually something cozy ie. jammies, slipper, etc...) in red stripped paper. Each kid has a "pile" of gifts on display with a huge red calligraphy written tag in front of their pile. It looks so festive... Ohhh, I can't wait!

My DH wraps stocking stuffers. I never have. My family just put the stuff in our stockings unwrapped and we would just go through it. My DH also wraps everything individually. If he buys me an outfit, he will wrap the pants separetely from the shirt. :rotfl2:

Same here DH wraps all my stocking stuffer, however I don't wrap any stocking stuffers not even the kids!!

ETA BTW, my kids each have their own paper, so I don't have to use tags, or have "santa" sign them. For example, this year DS13 gets all his gifts wrapped in paper with only Santa's on it. DS 9 gets all his gifts wrapped with only snowmen on it. And the baby's wrapping paper is all teddy bears. No confusion on Christmas morning!!!

I really dont like to wrap although we did wrap Santa presents when DD was young. I ahve been taking the easy way out with wrapping lately using bags and such. Then DD tells me the other day that the wrapping/unwrapping is her favorite part of Christmas! So eventhough we will be in WDW for Christmas I went to the Dollar Tree for paper and wrapped up the few gifts we re giving here. Now after reading all this I am thinking of going back and wrapping all the stuffers! :goodvibes

I love this thread! My DH's family has alway's wrapped stocking stuffers, so he got me doing it for our girls. They like it, dd7 and even dd16 still likes it.
Everything under the tree gets wrapped, (special paper for santa) and we always give one gift from mom and dad. I have always written in block letters, it's worked so far. Me and DH just got done wrapping the girls things, now he's in the basement wrapping mine............just a second I need to go take a peek......(just kidding, I would never do that) but, I can't wait for Christmas morning!!!!!
Have fun everyone, and Merry Christmas!!!!

Only have one child, 7 yr old. Still believes!! Santa doesn't wrap stocking stuffers. Never thought to do this. And believe it or not, Santa presents aren't wrapped either, just spread all around the tree. Presents to each other are wrapped. Don't know why we started this tradition but my daughter thinks this is great so we go with it. I like it to, it makes the Eve much easier to set up and it saves on paper. The tree looks awesome too! Some of our friends think this is wierd though. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I wrap EVERYTHING!!! I hate for the "opening" to be over too quickly. We only have one child, DS 8. I want Christmas morning to last as long as possible.

Stocking is first, gives mom & dad a chance to get coffee & wake up. I like the idea of lots of tape on stocking stuffers. I think I will add some extra tape to them tonight! Yes...every stuffer is wrapped...no oranges in there, lol.

Growing up, at one point there were 8 kids, we took turns being "Santa" & passing out gifts. Everyone was given a gift, opened one at a time. It made the morning last a bit. We still do this when we get to Grandma's.

On Santa's paper...this is the first year my son has mentioned this...that he will know right away what gifts are from Santa because "he" doesn't have the same paper as us. I did buy special tags...only used by Santa. I hope I disguised my handwriting!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I always take the kid's toys out of the packaging when they are little. I probably stop around when they are around 4 or 5. I just don't think it would be very much fun for my 1 y/o to open a box, only to take it away from him and spend 20 fustrating minutes trying to open the darn thing. It makes for lumping presents, but the babies do not mind!

We do that with our big gifts from Santa. I have always wanted to do it with the other toys, too, but my DH vetoed the idea, I don't know why. I just hate spending all day Christmas day opening boxes and twist ties, putting in batteries, etc.

All of our presents were wrapped growing up. All of our stocking gifts are wrapped and we open one a day between Christmas and New Years. We never really got candy in our stockings mostly just small toys or things like lip gloss etc. It made the holiday last more than just one day.
On Christmas morning we open one at a time. We don't have kids yet but when we do I plan to carry on these traditions. I already make DH do it. Merry Christmas!

This is how my parents handles stockings when we were growing up. I was one of 5 kids.

Since we did not have a fireplace "Santa" left our stockings on the foot of our beds during the night. On Christmas morning the 1st kid up would wake all the others and then gather in one of our bedrooms to open our stockings. Our stocking gifts were always wrapped with TONS of tape, even each tiny piece of candy. The rule in our house was we could wake our parents up after stockings were opened, so by wrapping and heavy tape my parents would get at least an hour peace & quiet to get gifts ready downstairs, muffins in the oven things like that.

OMGosh, I might have to borrow this idea! My DH has to work until 8 tomorrow morning and I wasn't sure how to keep the boys upstairs until he gets home, this just may be it!!!

Some of the stuff in their stockings is wrapped, some is not.

No I don't wrap anything in the socks. Filled with fun little things, candy and stuff and I'd like to have some fun looking teasers peeking out of it.

Like my DS9, a couple of packs of YugiOh 9 packs and my girls some of those furry pens and faced cartoon gloves. Xmas morning they only look with their eyes and can feel the sock but not to pour out until everyone is up.

My mom usually does, but it depends on if she has time to do it...this year, she didn't have time to wrap the stocking stuffers.
