Do you wrap your stocking stuffers?

My in-laws always wrap each and every stocking stuffer. I thought this was very strange, but maybe I am the strange one! We never wrapped stocking stuffers in my family--why would you gift wrap an orange?

My kids get some candy, fruit and a few small toys in their stockings, nothing major

I do. Santa's big gift is generally unwrapped, and already put together/set up for christmas morning. The stuff in the stockings are all individually wrapped....

DD9 has in her stocking, intuition refill, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, pencils, erasers, candy, a beaded curtain for her door etc.

DD8 has the same, but no razor refill LOL.

unwrapping is one of my girls favorite parts of christmas.

I asked DD9 if she wanted her stocking wrapped, as she no longer believes in santa, and she looked at me like I had 10 heads, and said "well YES"

No, I don't wrap stocking stuffers. Everything not in the stocking gets wrapped though.

My DH wraps stocking stuffers. I never have. My family just put the stuff in our stockings unwrapped and we would just go through it. My DH also wraps everything individually. If he buys me an outfit, he will wrap the pants separetely from the shirt.

In our family, the candy in the stocking does not get wrapped but the "things" do. That was always part of the fun on Christmas morning was the little things in the stocking to upwrap. Santa usually wraps all his gifts unless there is something really big...that is put together and not wrapped.

I usually wrap about half the gifts in the stockings. Usually I go for the easy to wrap or special ones. This year I only wrapped one item between the six stockings because I was in a rush. Wrapping does tend to slow the kids down a bit, and it IS a good way to use up small pieces of wrapping paper. Maybe I'll go back and wrap a few of them if I get time tonight.

This is how my parents handles stockings when we were growing up. I was one of 5 kids.

Since we did not have a fireplace "Santa" left our stockings on the foot of our beds during the night. On Christmas morning the 1st kid up would wake all the others and then gather in one of our bedrooms to open our stockings. Our stocking gifts were always wrapped with TONS of tape, even each tiny piece of candy. The rule in our house was we could wake our parents up after stockings were opened, so by wrapping and heavy tape my parents would get at least an hour peace & quiet to get gifts ready downstairs, muffins in the oven things like that.

Well for my family it is a little difficult.

Of course Mom and Dad...and SANTA always had just filled our stockings and not gift wrapped. They still do to this day. When DH and I go over to their house Christmas Day I know our stockings will be filled with goodies unwrapped...which we get to look inside after opening all the gifts

But for all of MY stocking stuffers that I place in DH's and my parents/sisters stockings...those have to be wrapped, otherwise they will see me place them in! So I usually take them over Christmas Eve and place them in first, wrapped. DH already has his in his stocking wrapped and I see he has mine wrapped and in the stocking too already

Funny story- Our first Christmas together. Almost a week before Christmas DH tells me he has placed something in my stocking (I mean, who really does this Who would tell?! ). I walk over and feel something small and sort of box-like. I never took it out of the stocking because of COURSE I know exactly what it is! I open it up on Christmas and cried a river because I was right, DH had bought me a new engagement ring (yes we were already married but my first ring was only what he could afford at the time- not that it mattered to me). But I had told DH after I opened it that I knew it was going to be a ring because I could feel the box. After that point, he has carefully wrapped my gifts so I would have no clue as to what is inside!

The shaving at 9 is very common- I have a 4th grade daughter and it is about 1/2 the girls that need to shave.

Stocking stuffers are always wrapped in paper that says "From Santa". I got this wrapping paper last year from currentcatalog.com and it is the best so DD knows who it is from.

LOL! This is how my parents handled the stockings as well and now I do it with my 3 kids. I love how it keeps them occupied in the morning without leaving their bedroom! LOL! It's nice to wake up to giggles and whispers coming from their room. BUT, as they get older, it is getting more difficult to sneak into their rooms at night to place their stockings on their beds. One of these Christmas Eve's, I'm going to get caught!

I do wrap most of the stocking stuffers - I like the idea of lots and lots of heavy tape! LOL! If I used duct tape, they'd be in there until lunch time! LOL!

Not wrapped!!! Santa always leaves all of his gifts un-wrapped. DH's family started wrapping when the kids were no longer "believers" but since we don't discuss that AT ALL in our house - if you don't have Christmas magic in your heart, HE won't come!!! - things are always and forever un-wrapped!!! The kids do help with the adult stockings as Santa only comes to see the children.
Stockings are my FAVORITE! I do love the idea of wrapping the stuffers with heavy tape, though...

We don't wrap out son's gifts. Just put them in the stocking.

But my dh and I have a tradition that on Christmas eve we wrap each other's stockings gift and have a little stocking party after my ds is sleep. It's nice to just have our time and the stocking stuffers are perfect!

No - all gifts are wrapped except the gifts from Santa- they are unwrapped - he doesn't have the time! - all stocking gifts are unwrapped - they generally are small items - who wants to wrap chapstick!

In our family Stocking gifts are never wrapped, the large 'from Santa' gift is wrapped in Santa Claus wrapping paper and placed near the stockings, and all other gifts are wrapped in other Christmas paper and are under the tree.
I can hardly believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve!

Stockings are by the fireplace - all gifts inside are unwrapped. We open these first before moving to the tree. All gifts under/around the tree are wrapped. Santa gifts are wrapped in special paper, but not tied in fancy ribbons (just one bow stuck on each). Presents to/from each other are wrapped in different paper and have ribbons etc. Santa presents also have special tags.

Growing up we always had 5 or six kids in the house (parents were foster parents) to keep us in bed longer than 5am Santa put the stockings on our beds. We all woke up and shared what we had, nothing was ever wrapped but it kept us in bed so "Santa and Mrs Claus" could get a few extra zzz's after waiting up all night for us to go to bed lol. We do the same nothing wrapped and they go on the beds. All tree presents are wrapped.
