The issue of yucky unwashed blankets and bedspreads comes up regularly on this forum. While it is possible, with great effort, to get supposedly washed blankets and bedspreads if you ask for them, most people don't. When I visit WDW I take my own duvets or at least some clean sheets to lay over the dirty blankets so I don't have to touch them.
In Europe, for years they have used duvets with a clean, freshly washed wrapper after every guest. Most decent American hotels now do this. Hampton Inn, for example, has "everything washed" bedding at every hotel. I cannot describe how much better one sleeps with the only thing touching one's body is smooth, clean sheets.
Now to Disney. The bedspreads are generally "pretty." They add to the room decor. But they are by their very nature not as clean as a plain, white duvet cover.
So which would you rather have, everything washed bedding or a pretty bedspread?
