Do you wear your engagement/wedding ring(s) on vacations?

Mine don't come off. I mean they CAN, I just keep them on. They are very modest (my request). DH and I have plain white gold bands and my engagement ring has a small solitare diamond. I have pretty small hands and didn't want anything bulky. The only time I take them off is when I go in the ocean.

O.o

Um, yes? It's on me 24-7, except for extreme examples where I am afraid I might lose it or it could rip my finger off (mostly related to yard work or power tools).

Domestically, yes. Internationally (Mexico, Caribbean, cruises, etc), no. I have a fake set I bought to wear for those vacations.

I wear mine on vacation!
I do not, however, wear my rings all the time. At home they are here in a little case... When I get my things together to head out, then they go on.
I don't wear them 24/7. I don't wear them when I am working, cleaning, gardening, etc...

I can def. understand not wearing them for some of the vacation activities mentioned.
I am a beach-girl, and I do not always wear them when I am slathering on sunscreen and out in the sand and saltwater.

So glad I'm not the only one who doesn't wear their rings 24/7. I get such crap from people for it but my fiance designed a unique band that unfortunately catches on stuff sometimes. So when I'm home I usually take it off as I come inside and put it back in the ring box. Mostly do it because I have scratched my dogs eye with it one time and I felt so bad. As soon as I'm walking out the door I always put it back on but someone tried to tell me I was being disrespectful of the commitment when they found out I don't always wear it. I'm shocked at ladies who can sleep in theirs.

Get them sized!!! It is quick and easy and doesn't cost that much.
If you have an old piece of gold/whatever jewelry, you can take that in and they can use it and give you a little for any extra, if there is enough to be worth anything.
I know. I know. It's just not a priority I guess. I'm not a jewelry person. I do wear my ten year anniversary ring all the time though. It looks like a wedding ring.

Most of our vacations lately have been cruises and I wear my rings on the ship, but leave them in the safe when we go on excursions. I don't like to wear them in the ocean - fish like sparkly things and I don't want to attract fish. LOL If I am not going into the water, sometimes I will just wear my wedding band and leave my engagement ring in the safe. It has diamonds, but just small channel set ones.

My hands are gloved when gardening but, otherwise bare. I'd be more likely to lose them taking them on and off. My mom took her's off while on vacation to wash in the hotel room; yup left them on the counter forgetting to put them back on, and never saw them again. If I lose mine they are insured.

Please, please tell me you mean ETERNAL REST! 'Cause otherwise :confused3

Enternal rest? I have coworkers who have told me they sleep in their rings and never take them off because it is not respectful to their husbands/fiances if they don't. I can't imagine how they do it but just regular daily sleeping they leave them on. I guess to each their own but I'd probably have a ring shaped bruise if I tried that haha.

When I was married, both times, I wore them all the time. I might take them off to re-finish furniture, or do dishes, or when going to the beach, but I figure that's what hotel safes were for and all my jewelry is insured if its over a certain value. I've never been worried about being robbed because they were insured and what's the point of having them, in my mind, if you're not going to wear them. Also, it really mattered to my second husband to wear it, so I did.

ETA: I'd take rings, earrings, and my watch off to sleep. Not literally all the time.

I don't wear mine to sleep. The jeweler recommends taking them off at bedtime. My diamond has a high setting and I prefer to take it off to avoid hitting things with it. The diamond may be almost indestructible, but the prongs aren't.

Oh my goodness, people actually say that to you? That sounds young and naive to me. Proof of commitment doesn't come from a piece of jewelry. Take it from a long time (together 28 years, married 25) married lady who only wears her rings on special occasions.

I always wear mine. I suppose I might consider removing my e-ring, but I've never taken my wedding band off so I'm not about to for a vacation ;)

Just curious... On the two or three occasions I've not had my rings on; I had men engage (pun intended) me way too long. I do appreciate the rule of respect no ring, fair game.

Short Answer - Yes, I've always worn my wedding rings on vacation.

Long Answer -

My first set, I wore all the time until I got pregnant w/ our first DD. My fingers got bigger, & my wedding band would no longer fit. My grandfather gave me my grandmother's band to wear to w/ my engagement ring.

After my DD was born, I continued to wear just my grandmother's band because I didn't want the diamond from my engagement ring to scratch my baby. (It was a pear-shaped solitaire diamond that stuck up from the band.)

18 months after she was born, her little brother was born... so I just continued wearing my grandmother's band.

But I wore the band all the time, &, after the kids wore older, I started wearing my engagement ring again. My original wedding band fit again, but, since I really liked wearing my grandmother's band, I wore all 3 (thin bands).

And, I wore them all the time.

For our 17th wedding anniversary, DH gave me a new set. According to the care instructions, you're not supposed to wear your rings when you sleep, take a shower, swim, clean, etc. So, for a while, I took my rings off for any of those kinds of activities - including sleeping.

I'm a beach girl too, so, whenever we'd go to the beach, I'd take my rings off before we went to the beach & leave them in our room - but I'd still have them w/ me on vacation.

But, eventually, I got tired of taking my rings off all the time for the various things, & I was afraid I was going to lose them.

So, now, I only take them off if I'm doing something really messy or have them off in order to clean/inspect the rings.

Other than that, my rings are always on - even on vacation.

I've only traveled domestically, so yes I wear it everywhere. If I was traveling outside the US to some of the countries that DH visits for work (research related) then I might consider leaving it at home.
