Do you wear your contacts on fast rides?

Been wearing contacts for ov er 20 year. Never popped out while playing sports, visiting WDW, Great Adventure, Busch Gardens, swimming (badly), and eating bacon. Ok well eating bacon may only be a fun adventure for me but I've never lost a lens. I agree with the drops. I normally have shades on. And I always have an extra set in the room just in case.

I always wear mine. The wind does tend to dry my eyes, so like others said I bring my eyedrops in the park. I have extended wear that I can wear for 30 days. Normally I take them out once a week, unless I have an issue. At Dis I take them out every night to give my eyes a rest.

I've never had problems with contacts and amusement parks. I agree with PPs about taking an extra pair. If wind dries out your eyes, I recommend Systane for contacts. Much less messy than regular solution. One drop per eye will do, then no more dry eyes. Comes in very small bottle, so very travelworthy. If you see your eye dr. before trip, ask for samples, even more travelworthy!

I've worn gas-permeable lens for 31 years and have been to many amusement parks and rode lots of roller coasters, especially in my teens and 20's. Never, ever had a lens pop out on any type of ride. But as many other have said I do tend to experience more dryness from the wind created by faster rides, so therefore I always carry a tiny bottle of solution and an extra pair of lenses.

LOL, I had a contact fall off during Space Mountain. I wear Acuvue advance lenses. I still wear contacts, though. I just carry an extra pair, a sample bottle of solution(get it at the drs office), and eyedrops. Much better than wearing glasses.

I too had one fall out on Space Mountain ! And they are Accuview as well. I think it is the sharp turns, not the speed of the coaster. I just had a fuzzy rest of the evening to deal with. From then on I carried a spare pair into the park.

Contacts!

In fact, Disney is the one time where I make myself where contacts. There's so much detail that you want to be able to see everything, even in your peripheral vision! I've never had any problems with my contacts and rides, only eye problem i've had is the wind causing tears to fly out of my eyes, but my contacts we're always nice and fine.

The only time i've ever had a contact fall out at disney was on the Universe of Energy. All the smoke stuff they use in the dinosaur scene made my eye dry up really fast and it popped out. Never had problems on faster rides!

I have never lost a contact on a rollercoaster, and I ride the big ones at Cedar Point which will put the bigger rides as DW to shame for speed. I did lose a contact on Splash Mountain, did shut my eyes when we went down the big hill and the water spray washed it out of my eye. I have learned to close my eyes on water rides, and have not had a problem since.

the entire vacation. I wear extended wear up to 14 days. I have never had an issue on the fastest coasters in and outside of Disney with my eyes open.

:cool1:

I agree with an earlier poster - I only really noticed my contacts being a problem when I was in the FRONT ROW on Rockin' Roller Coaster. Took me a bit when we first took off to get used to the wind on my eyes....took a bit away from the thrill but it was only at the beginning for me....I adjusted along the way.

Other than that - avid contact wearer and I never had a second thought on any rides about them....shoudl be OK

I know this is different but what about a hearing aid? Mine fits almost completely inside my ear, btw..

Heck, I got contacts specifically because wearing glasses to theme parks was such a pain! :D

I wear the Accuview Advanced and have never had a problem. They can dry out if it is really windy though. I always carry some solution drops in case I ever have a problem.

I have never had that problem with my contacts on anything in WDW. I'm more worried about swimming in them that rides with them.

I'm sure you won't have a problem wearing contacts. My boyfriend wore glasses on every ride, including Rock n Roller :scared1: and they stayed on (I don't know how though!), I heard no complaints from his end on any problems with them.

I've never had a prob with contacts & outdoor activites/rides/sports/swimming etc. For me I would never wear my glasses - it's hard enough keeping track of my sunglasses let alone eye glasses!
