crocs? OR is that a fashion don't for Disney parks? Could you help me I am looking for a pair of sandles or something that will be confy in august to DL but that wont be fashionable bad. Thanks for the help..

August means priority #1 is Comfort. Priority #2 is the same! Priority #3 might be fashion... but not at the expense of blisters, etc.

I went in Sept and it seemed like everyone was wearing Crocs with shorts.
My mother wore hers with capri pants. It seems that a lot of people are worried about Crocs not being fashionable. However a lot of people are wearing them. Does that mean they are in fashion?

I personally don't care what I look like in the parks. I go for comfort first. If anyone has a problem with the way I look, well, I won't ever see them again so I don't care! I usually wear jeans (I just don't like wearing shorts in the parks. I sat in something sticky once.) and a tank top. No jewelry. If I care about whether or not I ruin it or lose it, I don't wear it into the parks. (That goes for everything. If I don't want it gone, I leave it in the hotel.)
Remember, these people will never see you again. WDW is a time to enjoy yourself and rediscover the magic, not impress everyone with fashion sense. :goodvibes

I wear my CROCS and HOLEY SOLES with everything...shorts, capris, jeans, twill pants, cords, even a bibbed cord jumper and microfiber tights...I've delegated my oldest pair of Crocs to the grab and go shoes...they are kinda ratty looking, but work great if I'm just taking DS to and from school. I wear them with and without socks, too. Fashion be darned, I'm all for comfort and my Crocs/Holey Soles are it!

I'm with you guys! Comfort is the #1 thing - you're not there to make a fashion statement! I say as long as you're decently covered and comfortable, go for it!

Love the Teva Mush sandals...so comfortable. Also, I wear crocs, but they can make your feet sweaty so use deodorant on your feet.

I saw lots of Crocs there in January. Crocs with socks. :rotfl2:

I even saw them on a 12 year old boy!! He had band-aids on the back of his heels, where I'm guessing his sneakers rubbed the day before, so he must have been wearing his mom's crocs!

I was looking for some comfortable sandals too. I read about Keen Newports on another thread. So I got a pair on zappos.com They are sporty and comfy all in one. I think I may wear my Nike sneakers too, but it will be nice to trade off to these sandals.

If I'm not comfortable then the whole trip is worthless!

I went to a specialty running store this week to be fitted for a new pair of Brooks running shoes. They should be perfectly broken in by next weekend.

As for pants, it'll be whatever has the least potential to chafe! I refuse to be a slave to fashion when this much money and fun is at stake...

They make Crocs in all sizes. My DS7, DS4 and DD2 all have a pair of Crocs and want to wear them everywhere. We love our Crocs. There is nothing cuter than a 2 yr old girl wearing a pair of small pink Crocs. She has had a lot of compliments on them.

I was there in November and evryone was wearing crocs with everything! Go for comfort.

This is exactly why I don't see crocs being a comfortable shoe in 80 or 90 degree heat! I can't imagine anything more gross that putting your feet into a pair of plastic/rubber shoes where they cannot breathe! We wear Tevas.

Are they those bright-colored plastic looking shoes? If so, then I agree that they would seem to be a poor choice for doing lots of walking in hot weather. I recall seeing some older women wearing them on occasion, but definitely haven't seen many wearing them on our trips.

I am all for comfort above fashion, but I think that there are shoe choices which are miles ahead of these on both points.

JMHO, of course!

I bought an expensive pair of sandels that looked great but killed my feet. I then bought a pair of aerosoles sandels for $19.99 - they were comfortable and stylish.. They've become my "WDW Shoes"

Are crocs comfortable? I've never tried them on because I guessed the opposite. If so, I guess I've been missing out for assuming. Can anyone vouch for comfort level?

I saw folks wearing Crocs clogs with shorts when I was there in January.

FYI, Crocs also makes sandals.

I don't think most people care much about fashion at WDW, just comfort. :)

Personally I don't wear shorts if I can avoid it (only on super hot days) and don't own crocs (I like em though, they're cute) but I know I've seen people in that combo a lot.

Yeah, I can say that I find my Crocs/Holey Soles (I own both kind) are very comfortable!!! :goodvibes

I wore orthopedic shoes as a kid...early grade school...because I used to jump off of everything and broke down the arches. I've also had both of my legs/feet in casts...first time was due to broken ankle and fibula and the second was due to a broken tarsal. I also have feet that are wide, spreading out like a duck's webbed foot, while the ankle is relatively narrow so trying to find shoes that fit my feet isn't easy. I can't think of many shoes that I have found to be as comfortable as my Crocs and Holey Soles. They allow my feet to sit more naturally rather than squished in (even if I'm wearing a wide width shoe I feel that way). I have worn them with and without the strap behind the ankle...I prefer without since I can then just slip the shoe off and on, but it's fine with also. I also found that when I wore the Crocs in June at WDW for 6 days that even when I retained water and my ankles swelled I still felt comfortable...actually I didn't even notice the swelling until I got back to the room and noticed a very small (pinhead size) red spot. I realized it was because my ankles were swollen and the shoe, which normally was loose, was now fitting more snuggly and rubbed (similar to a floor burn) in that spot. That is the only time my Crocs didn't feel perfectly comfortable...when my ankles were so swolllen.

As for sweaty feet? I do not find that my feet sweat at all in the Crocs Beach style (with the holes) as long as I am not wearing socks...with the socks I noticed that between my toes did get slightly damp feeling on our Christmas trip when the temps got upward in the 60 plus range. As a matter of fact, I've noticed that my feet have actually become drier...the skin that is and I need to use lotion more often. Now, having said that, I have also noticed other areas of my skin are drier and it could be attributed to my being diagnosed as a diabetic for the last year, so take that into consideration. Now, I do find that my toes get somewhat sweaty when I wear my Holey Soles with socks, but they are the completely closed in style. Addtionally, I only notice the dampness when I take off the shoes and the air hits the toes...feels cool so I know the socks are damp.

The big plus about wearing the Crocs (with holes) in June was that it rained everyday and I walked through some 2 inch puddles...Yes, my feet got wet just like DH and DS, who wore their Nike tennis shoes with socks. The difference was that my feet dried within 10 minutes of getting out of the rain, while their shoes remained soggy for the entire trip...even by wearing 2 pairs alternating days.

This is just my experience with Crocs and Holey Soles, and each person is different. The best thing I could suggest is what my momma always made me do as a kid...try on the shoes to be sure it's a good fit and wear them around before trying to commando in them and be sure you do include a good deal of walking in them to be sure they work for you before you go to the parks.

Hope this helps!
