Do you wear shoes when you clean house?

I rarely wear shoes in the house either. I have a pair of "house" flip flops that I wear around the house. Wearing shoes doesn't motivate me. Having people over in an hour motivates me. :rotfl:

One thing my best friend and I do is call each other first thing in the morning and motivate each other. We will literally do the exact same tasks and talk for hours while cleaning our houses. We usually have to get off the phone when one of us needs to vaccuum. she will even call me on it if she can tell I am sitting down... the conversation will always start with "I need motivated...are you up for deep cleaning?" LOL

Several years ago I worked for a direct sales cosmetics company. One main rule for that company was that you could not make a single phone call in the morning unless you were totally dressed all the way to dress shoes. The reason behind this duty was that you act differently when you have clothes and shoes on. You are more professional. The customer can tell when you don't feel good about the way you look. So, if getting dressed makes that big of an impression on someone that can't even see you, then what is it going to do to those who can see you. Mainly yourself.

I have to say, this quote from the flylady cracked me up because it is so NOT true for me. My husband and I are self-employed and I have been known to work in the NUDE (don't worry, we don't have kids, LOL) :lmao: I am more comfy when I'm not dressed up (and hence feel better about the way I look! lol), so my productivity goes way up.

I don't wear my shoes in the house. I mainly just wear socks or slippers. When I think of where the soles of my shoes have been I don't want that tracking across my kitchen floor or the carpets.

The only time I have shoes on is for work or shopping. I put shoes on just before I walk out the door and they come off as soon as I walk in the door. I will put slippers or shoes on to go in the basement but that is because the floor is really cold and you never know what kind of creepy crawly thing might need to be stepped on!

I refuse to wear socks no matter what. I could probably get in major trouble at work for being barefoot in my sneakers, so I have an emergency pair in my file cabinet...just in case.

I never wear shoes or socks in the house. My feet like to be nekkid.

I won't walk on tile floor barefoot. Weird, I know, but I always think something icky is going to get stuck to the bottom of my foot. But I don't necessarily wear shoes when cleaning the other areas of the house.
