Hi all I was wondering if you wear sandals to the park which ones you prefer? I want cool tootsies this trip I'm leaning towards the Teva Terra Hi-fi right now. I'm wondering if they are worth the money? Thanks in advance
Absolutely! I wear my Teva's every day when we're there in the summer. (Actually, I have two pairs so I can switch off.) But they're much more comfortable in the heat than sneakers/socks.
For years we were sneaker and sock people only, but a few years ago we discovered how much more comfortable our feet are in sandals. We wear Earth Shoe Sandals from Walmart. The leather type with adjustable straps in three differnt places for best fit for you feet size. If your feet swell up a bit from heat you just adjust the straps and are good to go...
DDs and I always wear our Land's End sandals. We have never gotten one single blister between the three of us, even when we are wearing brand new ones for the trip!
Don't forget to cover your feet and ankles with sunscreen, though!
Teva Leather Pretty Ruggeds for me. I alternate those with a pair of Clark Thongs & a pair of Dansko slides. My Tevas have been my Go To WDW shoe for years. Never got a blister. Had a stubbed toe once from an excited child in line, but no big deal.
Tevas for me and my son, never a blister and our feet stay cool. My son is 8 and hates tennis shoes in the summer. He told me after a warm weekend here last weekend that any day where he can wear shorts and sandals is a good day.
I would love to be able to wear sandals to the parks, but they just don't have enough support for me. I luvvvvv my Teva Hurricanes, but this year I'm going to upgrade them to Pretty Ruggeds or something. The only thing that bothers me about the Hurricanes is that plastic triangle. My feet never did toughen up enough to keep it from hurting.
Another Teva lover here. Did have a bit of soreness from that embossed hand thing on the heel. I just bought some moleskin and put it over that hand and away I went. Wore them the whole 10 days. Heaven.
Last year I wore my Keen's and didn't have one problem with my feet. Well, other than them just being achy from walking all day which has happened in every shoe I've ever worn.
I switched to sandals last year. My feet were too hot and sweating in socks and sneakers. Plus in June it rains everyday. I wouldn't wear leather or suede sandals in June but my speedo sandals from Sam's were great.
I wore Teva Stratums last year while in WDW for 4 days...never had a problem with blisters or tired feet. They have a lot of support ~ more than my sneakers actually and they were great for the summer rain or wet rides. I hate the way they look, but love the way they feel!!
I read your reply too quickly and I thought you said you'd been wearing suede sandals and a speedo. I was thinking "Hmmm, brave fashion choice." Too funny
