Do you wear make up while cruising?

I don't wear make up very often anyway so definately not when I was cruising. However, I will probably wear some for formal night and pictures.

The only times I've gone without make-up (in 35 years) are when I was sick and in bed. (LOL!) I do wear minimal (during the day) while cruising, but fully make myself up each night for dinner. Minimal for me is lipstick and light powder. I've always loved make-up though. :earsgirl:

no make up for me while on vacation, ..... well actually I never wear make up

I'm a "product junkie" but go for minimal makeup during the day -- I get my eyelashes dyed too Mommasita, and I love it. Never had 'em permed tho. That's cool. Mine are light and not very long so it really helps. I am allergic to chemical sunscreens so I wear mineral makeups (Jane Iredell, for example) that block the sun. During the day on the cruise I'd just wear some bronzer, lip gloss and curl my "black" eyelashes. At night, probably bronzer again (it IS a cruise :)) eye makeup (incl. mascara -- I still need it even tho lashes are dyed) and lipstick. They make some really cool bronzer that comes in a tube that you bruch on and it's 30 spf, too. It doesn't seem to run in the pool either.

Fish underbelly colored lips, blonde stick straight eyelashes and a deep aversion to oil slicks :) This means I won't be seen without a dusting of powder, tinted lipslicks and some mascara.

Wow - we must have a bunch of natural beauties here on the DIS. I go nowhere outside my house (or stateroom) without makeup - it would just be too scary. I do not have naturally pretty skin and my eyes and lips are nice but absolutely disappear without makeup. I honestly cannot imagine going without makeup on a regular basis but I sure do envy all of you who can!!

I'm usually tan before I go (thank you tanning bed), so I bring very little make-up and I bring make-up that will go from day to night.

I just wear light colored eyeshadow (to help protect against the sun when the sunglasses are off), mascara and a light colored lip gloss.

How in the world do they perm eyelashes...I need It! :rotfl:

They roll them on small rods, similar to a permanent. IT does not hurt, just pulls a little..Looks great.. :goodvibes

There was a comprehensive and somewhat contentious thread about this a few weeks ago, I'm looking for the thread now. I was one of the 'pro makeup' people, and my argument was that you'll be seen and photographed more during a disney vacation than at any other time in your life, why not look your best?

Because some of us look fine without makeup. I wear makeup for dress up occations, like I wear a dress. But I'm not wearing my formal to watch my kids by the pool - it may make me "look my best" but its not comfortable - I'm lucky to look fine without makeup and don't find it comfortable in the heat.

Now, granted, if you don't feel you look good without makeup or feel naked without it, you should do whatever makes you comfortable. But there is no reason to judge those that do or don't wear makeup, or any reason to believe those of us that don't wear makeup are apparently too hideous to photograph. (In fact, even waterproof mascara occationally makes me look a little too much like a raccoon in the sun and water and heat - which is an arguement for looking better without it).

Minimal make-up during the day - usually light lipstick, eyeliner but if I am spending time by the pool or plan on go swimming (beach excursion) - definitely no make up. I must put something on my lips though - wether it's sunscreen or lipstick - if I do not - blisters/cold sores on my lips. Of course I like to wear a bit more for evening and mascara goes on for Formal/semi-formal.

Like someone posted - whatever makes you feel comfortable. Try a little less each day - you get used to the naked look after a while and it's really not as bad as the first initial shock - I use to wear it everyday years ago when I worked in the "city" ;). Now mascara seems to bother me so I only wear it when I have to. Luckly I have decent eyelashes. This might be a good time to give your skin a break - lipstick and sunglasses and you should be set to go :) Relax and enjoy!

I wear lip gloss and a moisturizing sunscreen during the day. I definitely put on a full face of makeup before dinner. Part of the fun of cruising for me is the chance to take the time to look a little pretty.

My dh gets ready and then goes off to occupy himself for an hour or so, and I have plenty of time to have a relaxing shower, and take time to dress and do my hair and makeup, which I rarely get at home. It's a little ritual that we have developed that has us both going to dinner relaxed and looking forward to a great evening. I wonder how this will change on our first cruise w/ds in August? I'm hoping he'll get dressed and take ds with him!

I never wear makeup when I am on a Cruise. Come to think of it, I never wear it any other time either. But my wife sometimes wears it. She took it on the Cruise with her and maybe wore it once or twice, for the Formal dinners.

....I get my eyelashes permed and dyed black before I go away..It is so neat, and lasts several weeks, a little less with the swimming..I have dark eyelashes anyway, and they are quite long, but with the dye, and the curling, is FUN..... cost is 40$...

I always get my lashes tinted before vacation. I'm lucky -- I've got long curly lashes so I don't need to have them permed. I recently got permanent eyeliner and love, love, love it. Now I'm wondering why I waited so long to do it. :confused3 LOL
