Do you wear flip flops to the parks?

I wore flip flops for the five hour KTTK walking tour and my feet were completely comfortable. But when the tour was ending someone in the group asked if they hurt. I thought the question was odd and it started me to wondering: Am I the only one who would wear flip flops to the parks? :rolleyes2

I would NEVER. We walk 8-10+ miles a day and my feet would be KILLING ME. Most people don't but there's always that few who can. It really depends on what you're comfortable with.

I have a terrific pair of Teva flip flops that I got for half price at Famous Footwear. They've been to WDW and to Italy. No problems at all! :sunny:

i wore flipflops in the park the whole time last year. I don't think I put my sneakers on a single time. I'll probably do the same this year.

tricia.

My worst foot vacation was in August of 2000. I was 14 weeks pregnant with my second child and I bought a pair of reeboks with air cushions built in. I wanted to cut my feet off!!!!!

I did better on our next trip - a different pair of sneakers.

Then we had a trip in 2003 and I was pregnant again. I was so worried about my feet. I ended up taking a pair of Nikes and my favorite worn-in flip-flops (just a cheapie pair). I alternated each day - one day for sneakers and the next day the flip-flops! I have never had a better foot vacation. We walk miles and miles a day - all over the parks from morning until the kids fall asleep at night and I was amazed how much I enjoyed my flip flops!

I won't wear them all day in the parks, however, I'll change into flip flops when we return to our resort in the afternoon. I find that it is more relaxing for my feet to change shoes than to do anything else. So, I'll wear them 1/2 days or for the evenings. I have 2 pairs of Reef flip flops that I LOVE!

I had posted something similar about flip flops but pertaining to flip flops on rides. Alot of Dissers said that flip flops on rides were okay. The only ride where they had to be taken off was on Soarin. Just a little extra info thought you might be able to use.

I plan to wear mine. I want to be as comfortable as possible. ;)

I wore regular flip flops last July a few times and they were okay, but I think at least once my dogs were really HOWLIN by the time we got back to the hotel. This last June, I had Croc flip flops and happy feet all 10 days we were at the world. I'm having a hard time convincing myself to put on any other flip flops than the Crocs now. :sunny:

I saw a lot of flip flops at the parks over the weekend. I can't manage to keep flip flops on my feet so I don't know how people do it! I'll stick with my Crocs for now. ;)

On our trip in May, DH and I both wore Crocs flip flops every day and our feet NEVER hurt. It was our best foot vacation to date! Now we are going back in November and I am torn about what shoes to bring. I don't know what I will do if it is too cold to wear my flip flops again. I don't have any regular crocs and I just haven't been able to bring myself to buy them yet, but I may have to.

Also, DH wore different shoes on our last morning since we would be flying out that afternoon, and he was miserable! He said his feet and his lower legs hurt - he is a very fit man too! When I think about this I just get more worried about November!

I tend to switch between sneakers and flip flops depending on whether there are water rides or not.

I wouldn't wear anything else - I hate sneakers. The only downside to flip-flops is that in crowds people were constantly stepping on the back of my shoe.

What great info! :disrocks: I have ALWAYS worn Teva's to WDW. (love them)I now have crocs and I think I shall slip a couple pair of flip flops in our luggage to alternate.
Thanks again!

I bought a pair of timberland sandels our last trip and my favourite pair of slip ons. I switched between the two the entire time and I think switching was the key to be happy. Both were wonderful. I just looked stupid because they didn't match my outfits, oh well better to have happy feet.

Don't forget no gel inserts on the airlines.

No!! They make my feet hurt - I need more arch support. I also prefer closed toe shoes to avoid any foot damage due to strollers, spilled ice cream, etc.

I am also one who wears sneakers most of the day and when we go back in the evening (after relaxing at the resort/pool) will freshen up, change, and wear flip flops so my poor feet can breathe. Like someone else said, if crowds are really bad, sometimes people tend to step on them

I wore $2.50 Old Navy flip flops (in a variety of colors, of course) all day every day on our last two trips. I had no problems but I wear them all summer anyway.

Now this year, I bought Land's End Sea to Shore shoes...they are super cute so I'll try them this trip (plus my flips of course).

I live in flip flops.. I have like 14 pairs..lol Casual kinds, dress up kind, I love them! So of course I wear them to the parks.. Now I do make sure I wear a comfortable pair something well broken into..

I am planning on my Teva Mush flip flops or my Mary Jane style crocs. I only wear tennis shoes for my daily walks...and even then the balls of my feet hurt!
