Do you 'watch what you eat' at WDW?

I dont think we have gained any weight but we tend to go for 3 to 5 days. I bet if we stayed for a week or more we would gain weight.

We share lunches and snacks. If we have a large breakfast we skip lunch. We always order a salad with dinner, skip appies and desserts. We drink only water, maybe an ice tea with dinner. I like to get a container of fruit for a snack instead of an ice cream...more refreshing.

Breakfast is as early as I can get it and dinner is never after 6...we do not eat anything after 8pm either.

Alot of walking helps too.

Nope. I say good bye to healthy eating for those 7 heavenly ice cream filled days:)
Why worry about food when you walk so darn much:)

I have to watch what I eat every day as I have reactive hypoglycemia. No sugar or caffeine allowed for me or I get sick as a dog. I am soooooo jealous of the Disney desserts. I look at all the pictures on the boards and just drool! So everybody needs to have just a little more dessert for me...

For me it is one of the only times that I don't watch anything I eat and just totally enjoy myself! All the walking helps also;)

I wish I could eat like a glutton, but heat and hot don't work with my metabolism. Add in a bout on the teacups, and I would have to go back to the hotel room, utterly miserable. So, I have to limit myself to one indulgent dessert item a day, salads as entrees, lots of water, and fruit. But, darnit, I sure do enjoy the one dessert I do eat! Yum!

No I don't watch what I eat. We splurge. Frozen Mickey bar here, Dole whip there etc.....

Usually after the Holidays we go on a diet and try to shape up, so by the time our summer trip comes were off it.:rotfl:

To a point we do. DH is Type I diabetic and DD9 has IBS, so it's not in either of their best interests to go completely crazy with the food. I'm just small and so is my stomach. I am simply unable to eat a lot--and I am miserable if I stuff myself.

I do think that all the walking makes us hungrier. We usually are ready for lunch around 11am, and we definitely have an extra snack or two. The snacks are when we tend to indulge. We'll all share a schoolbread or something else decadent! I don't think we ever gain weight at WDW.

So, while we aren't as good as we are at home, we're still pretty careful with our eating at WDW.

No way! We are eat whatever we want while on vacation. It isn't a vacation if every day I'm reminded I need to eat right. I do that every day at home. I might gain a lb or two but I usually am down a bit.

Just eat with a fork...all of the fat and calories fall right through.

We definitley don't watch what we eat. We're on vacation. We just have fun and worry about losing anything we put on, when we get back.

i'm torn on my answer to this... normally i would say NO WAY, but last time i went (december) i lived by that theory and ended up sick. i had been on a very strict lowfat way of eating to get ready for my wedding and after i fell off the wagon a bit during my honeymoon, i developed some sort of stomach problem having to do with acidic foods....

now i will definitely try to be careful but i am still going to indulge

Never. I am there to indulge in everything WDW has to offer, especially the food! With all the walking we do I have never gained weight during our trips.

Just wondering how many people try to stick to a sensible eating routine? ...
Eating right is a way of life and should not be something you do here and not there. It also doesn't mean you can't treat yourself to a few special things, but I think if you are actually eating healthy right now...all of those things many people navigate to like donuts, fried foods, heavy fat content foods have a repulsive flavor once you are eating right/healthy. If you eat these types of foods in some of the serving sizes they provide or in excess you will impact your health.

We eat healthy at WDW...we avoid most CS and navigate to the TS offerings.

In a way....pretty vague huh?:goodvibes

I usually eat whatever I want, which includes fruits/veggies. I don't think my eating habits are alot different on vacation than when I am at home. I do indulge on a couple things (breakfast lasagna at CP for instance).

I might get an ice cream or two while I am there, but last trip we did DDP and with dessert every night, I didn't want ice cream as a snack.

I rarely gain weight while I am there, we do the parks commando style so I get more exercise there than I do when I am at home!

I try to loose a couple of pounds before I go to WDW. But once I am there, it doesn't matter how many calories or fat grams an entree has, Disney has the best restaurants. Also, I never get desserts whenever we go out for dinner at home, unless it is a special occasion, but when I am on vacation, whether it is Disney or not, I am always looking at the dessert menu before the dinner menu. Just remember you are on vacation to enjoy yourself, so who cares what you eat, you can always loose it later. :mickeybar

We don't...none of us gained any weight during a 10 day Disney vacation (with a 4 day beach trip included). The amount of walking, swimming etc counteracted all the extra goodies. The only thing we had to watch was littlest dd...she is the strangest thing...she literally does not feel hunger the way "normal" people do. She'll start getting a bit cranky or slow...and *we have to think to feed/water her...because on her own she'd never do it or let us know! She's sooo darn lucky we love her! :rotfl:

nope - no "watching" at WDW (do enough of that at home!)

51 weeks of the year we eat healthy

that one week in WDW?

whatever we want!!!!!!!

I don't like to worry about what I eat on vacation. I am looking forward to splurging!:cool1:
