OK, here is my thought. When I first started watching, it was awful to see a wreck. That was a few years back (maybe 3 or so). Fortunatley, I watch it much more now and it is a much safer sport than it was even 2 years ago. Between the HANS device, and the "soft walls", the drivers are walking away from wrecks that they would have died in a couple of years ago.
So, in conclusion, I have to admit that it is pretty exciting to see a wreck (saw one in person about 20 feet from where I was standing at a Busch race). But if it is terrible one (like the one Steve Park was in a few weeks back), no, that just brought tears to my eyes, because I really thought he would not survive that one (but he did!!

).
Funny you should ask this question, is it because the race is at Bristol this weekend???

Should be some pretty interesting driving.
PS Adam Petty also died before the HANS device was manditory, or even used by many drivers. That was also an espcially sad day in our house (as was when Dale E and Kenny Erwin died).
