do you want 1 BR at some resorts, studio at others?

Well, now I know what you all mean when you say "Once you try a one bedroom, you'll never go back to a studio". That's the way I feel now that we've tried a 1 BR on our recent trip to HHI. I really think the 1 BR was partly why we relaxed so much, partly because of that huge porch and the king sized bed. However, DH thinks we only need a 1 BR when we're at HH, because it's the type of resort where we stay "home" more. He believes at WDW we're on the go more, so we don't need a 1 BR. I think we'd probably get more of that relaxed feel, and would stay in more, if we got a 1 BR all the time. Looking back at our previous trips to WDW, we have been on the go more, so I somewhat know what he means. So does anyone else get a 1 BR at certain resorts, but a studio when staying at others? Or do you always get a 1 BR now regardless of the resort? And if it's different, where do you get which kind of accomodation?

We stayed in a Grand Villa during our first trip in '93. We immidiately realized that we were going to need one every year. We added 200 more points during that first trip.

We have never tried a studio.....don't know if we would ever want to.We love the jacuzzi, washer, dryer, king size bed, etc.;)

As a family of 6 we always get the 2BR but we are still spoiled. We often go over to Universal for one of the Friday's and Saturday's of our stay and get two adjoining rooms. It seems so small by comparison!

We bought with the intention of staying in 2 bedrooms (family of 4). I figured we would start to slow down a bit and not do that commando style touring and that is what has happened. Since we know we are returning, we don't feel we have to do everything every trip.

It is for just this reason that we think a 1BR is a must at WDW. Because the pace is more hectic on a daily basis, it is even more important to be able to return to a place where you can spread out, and relax.

BTW, we spoiled ourselves with a 1BR for four....and this year will be in a 2BR for four. There's no turning back now!!! :p

I enjoy staying at the Inn at Vero which is comparable to a studio. I'll trade the space for the guaranteed view. I also usually spend only 3 nights at Vero so it's a quick trip. For a longer trip, I guess I'll need the beach cottage. ;)

At WDW, I really love having the one-bedroom or larger. That said, I've had some really great trips in a studio as well. I really felt comfortable in the BWV studio since I was on the go more while there and didn't linger in the room as much. Once again, this was also a short stay before moving back "home" to an OKW one-bedroom.

That was my thinking too. When we are staying DVC at WDW getting the studio for the 3 of us. When we stay at either Vero or HH get a 1 bedroom cos we would be "home" more.
Have yet to try either so who knows what's gonna really happen.

We pick the size more by how long we are there rather that what resort. When we go home to Boardwalk it is usually for at least a 4-7 night stay so we get a one bedroom (or two bedroom if we have the in-laws with us). After our May cruise last year we opted for a studio at VWL since we were only going to be in it for 2 nights. A studio worked great for a short stay, but for a longer stay I like to be able to spread out, have the washer, jacuzzi, and full kitchen.

Our tentative plan for next fall is 5 nights at Boardwalk and 3 nights at Vero. If we do that we'll do a 1 bedroom at Boardwalk and then a studio or inn room at Vero (especially since Vero will be the weekend portion of our trip).

That's why I love the felxability of DVC so much!

Obviously, a stdio in a DVC property is still nicer than a regualr hotel room, with the kitchentte and all. But, as others have said, once you do the 1 BR, it's hard to go back!!!!;)

Well, unless there is an event that makes it so we want to stay in the EPCOT area, we generally go for a studio at OKW. There are only 3 of us and we like having the 2 queen-sized beds. We have stayed in a 2-bedroom at OKW also, when we had quests. We did love it. But I try to be very frugal with my points so I can have more trips. When son gets out of college and into the working world, we probably won't be taking as many trips, but right now he is still agreeable to going with us, and our checkbook :), so we like to make the most of that.

We have become spoiled by 1br, 2br and villas at 5 of the 6 DVC resorts. We have stayed in a studio for a couple of nights and did not get the feeling that we were "Home". We may stay in a studio again, but never for more than two weekend nights to save points.

We sometimes stay for a night or 2 at VB throughtout the year and love the OV Inn Rooms. Also 1 stay in one of the Beach Cottages. All other longer stays at the DVC resorts have been 1 BDR for the 3 of us.:)
