welllllll, shucks! I seen folks in their jammies in 7-11 and Walmart ALL the time.....it takes FOREVER to put on a pair of pants! and my fuzzy slippers are sooooooooo comfortable....

;)

This is one of those topics I never would have thought would be an issue. If nothing else, these cruising forums are great places to find out how easily offended people can get. :rotfl2: I seem to be surprised on a daily basis...

I don't know that I've ever seen someone walking around in inappropriate sleepwear. The PJ pants trend has been going on for awhile, but those are just cotton long pants, nothing inappropriate about them.

Someone else mentioned it, and I've also seen people walking around in bath robes. On one cruise (not DCL) there was a couple eating breakfast in the buffet in just their bath robes... didn't look like they had anything on underneath... that might be stretching it a bit. :-)

On the flip side, on Carnival last summer my wife was kicked out of the buffet when she was just getting a cup of coffee. The reason: our 11 month sold whom she was carrying did not have shoes on. Talk about strictly enforcing the dress code! :rotfl:

Yep, you see it all the time lately. It's an epidemic. I see moms every day dropping their kids off at school in pajama pants. Teens today seem to want to live in flannel PJ pants all day long.

As for on the ship...I can almost understand it more for the mornings. You run to get a quick cup of coffee and return to your room...okay, not the worst, I guess. However, when people spend their evenings in PJs - such as walking around the deck or going to a movie, etc...I don't understand it. Do you then sleep in the PJs that you were just sitting in a movie theater seat for 2 hours? Myself? I would have to then have to change into another set of PJs (which for me are a t-shirt and shorts) to sleep in as the ones I were wearing are no longer clean. And the thought of sleeping in dirty clothes/PJs...well...I just couldn't do it.

We have matching flannel Mickey pattern pajamas for the family. We put them on to go to the midnight showing of a new movie.

Sounds very cute and more power to you :goodvibes but here's my question-would you all put on the pj's and go through any hotel lobby to any movie theater at whatever time to see a movie?

I'm only asking cause we are all continuing to discuss this! :thumbsup2

I only hot out of my cabin in my PJ's once (pants & shirt sleeve top) to go to guest services the last night at 1230 in the morning because there was a major error I saw on our flight information. Other than that I would only do that again to go to the ice machine.

Ice machine? Are you talking about the drink station on the pool deck?

I have not read all the comments to the OP's question but I would not walk around the ship in my pajamas. I actually received some Minnie Mouse pjs for Christmas and will wear them to sleep in but I would never leave the room in them unless there was an organized event where you were expected to wear pjs like the kids have in the clubs. Even if I wore shorts and a tshirt to bed I still wouldn't wear them (no offense to anyone) because they would be wrinkled from sleeping in them. If I didn't want to get dressed for the day yet then I would simply slip on what I consider lounging clothes (yoga pants/t-shirt) and get my coffee or grab some breakfast.

Kids come to school in pajama bottoms all of the time now. It is sorta a fab, I think. Pajamas are the new sweatpants.

Our public schools have pajama pants on the "no go" list.

I think the difference here is an age thing, maybe.

I think a lot of younger people probably think it's okay, where the older set (45+ maybe?) don't, because manners and etiquette and all that were stressed upon the older generations more. Now PLEASE don't go thinking that I'm saying people wearing pajamas in public don't have any manners. I don't care if they do......it just isn't something that I was taught to be appropriate.

But really, is it that much harder to put a pair of pants/shorts on?:confused3

Shaw! If I want to! I have ADORABLE Minnie jammies AND a Mickey One-sie...hmmm One-sie oh so comfy...until you have the restroom staring you down... :rotfl2:

If it was a late night family showing of a Disney movie in a Disney hotel, yes. If it was a late night showing of a Nickelodeon movie in a Nickelodeon themed hotel and we had Nickelodeon themed pjs, yes. If it was a late night showing of Eloise at the Plaza at the Plaza, yes.

During the middle of the day, nope. Why wear pajamas at noon? At a hotel that had no affiliation to the movie nor the pajamas, nope.

I said "no" that I would not wear my pjs outside of our stateroom but this actually sounds really cute and a lot of fun. I wouldn't wear them to a midnight showing at our theater in town or anything but I could see wearing Disney pjs to a midnight showing on a Disney ship. :thumbsup2

I don't ever do this, but I probably would if it weren't for having an easily embarrassed husband. I would do the same thing at a hotel -- running to grab breakfast or to the store for a forgotten toiletry or something late at night. It's not a big deal. They are just clothes with cartoons on them. ;) Or snowflakes. Or whatever.

So I can't bring my Stitch Onesie and wear it? Oh darn. No just kidding it takes up to much room so not bringing it. At home I use it more on a lazy day or holiday or when I'm cold
