I have used sea salt in recipes that call for it specifically. But in general I don't use a lot of salt. I think a regular box of salt last years in my house!

Didn't answer the poll, but I use coarse Kosher salt quite often.

I have the sea salt that comes in a grinder and I use it occasionally, but not as a replacement for regular salt. I do use Kosher salt in cooking at the stove.

What is the difference between sea salt and table salt?

What the heck is sea salt??? Never mind, don't anwer. If I haven't needed it all these years, I'll never need it in the future.

I don't have salt in the house (well, maybe epsom salt in the bathroom). I haven't cooked with it for about twenty years. When my elderly neighbor comes to eat here, he brings his own salt shaker :)!

I have a BBQ trip tip recipe that you pack in sea salt and other spices before you grill it. It is so good! That's the only thing I use sea salt for.

I use sea salt, regular salt and kosher salt.....just depends on what use.

It's kinda like the difference between whole grain artisan bread and wonder bread.

Sea salt is cleaned but not processed or has limited processing and is higher in trace minerals (including iodine). Table salt has been cleaned and processed and most trace minerals removed and iodine sometimes added (depending on brand). There are many varieties of sea salt and they have different colors and flavors.

Many years ago I started using sea salt. I could never go back to regular salt, It's so salty!

There are many kinds of sea salt all add a slightly different taste. Who thought I'd be paying the price I pay for a box of salt. Once you start to use these salts there's no returning to the 2/$1.00 box of salty table salt.

I use kosher salt in the kitchen (but don't tell DH!) and Dead Sea salt in the bath for my DD w/ psoriasis. DH insists that I use iodized table salt (he *is* Mr. Monk) b/c he is convinced that DDs learning problems are caused by an iodine deficiency.

I use kosher salt or Hawaiian sea salt, but it depends on what I am cooking and I gotta be careful eating too much sodium.
