Do you use Bell Services without Valet Parking? (long)

This may be a crazy question but I always use Bell Services as we always check in before our room is ready so we let them get our luggage and store it for us than take to our rooom once it is ready-this is also easier than having to lug a bunch of luggage to the room which can seem like a mile hike sometimes. Anyway on the my point-we never use valet as I don't see a need in paying someone to park my car when I don't move it once we get there, but my friend just informed me it was "wrong" and "improper" :confused3 to let valet take my luggage and upon leaving come get the luggage and take it back to our car (once it has been stored again b/c we never leave at check out time) if we are not using the valet.

So does anyone else think this or do you use the Bellhop and not the valet?

Sorry so long. :p

I never seen anyting wrong wth it and I just politely tell valet that I will be parking the car, but my friend insisted that just wasn't the way and I was wrong, wrong, wrong and that valet was just being "nice" when they say okay that will be fine.

So long as you tip for the services you use, what's the problem?

That's just wrong. Your friend is misinformed or confused, one has nothing to do with the other.

Like you, we seldom use our car once we our WDW; so we use bell services for luggage then usually park the car ourselves. We also have used bell services for our luggage when use a towncar service to get to/from the airport. I don't see this as any different.

We use Bell Services and never have them park the car. We always tip so I don't see a problem with it. We tip $2.00 per bag or a 10 dollar minimum and never have gotten a strange look or anything like that. I think it is very common.

We always valet park (just prefer it for lots of other reasons) but see lots of people doing just as you described: having bell services take care of the luggage, but not the car. It is very common. I do understand however, that your friend may feel uncomfortable doing that, but it is done all the time, I assure you! I think it is just an instance of a personal comfort level thing--I think I might feel odd doing it, tbh, but I know it is "OK" to do it. Does that make sense?

Think about it: lots of people arrive in towncars or the shuttles--noone parks the car then, do they?

Like I said, we valet park the entire time while we are at WDW. I would say the majority of people do not valet park. There's a whole lot of bellman on duty for the few people who valet, LOL, if they aren't doing just luggage service for some!

Bell services and valet are two different things, the person who takes the luggage is bell services, not valet. Your friend doesn't know what they are talking about.
