Ok, we are doing the 4 day Disney Wonder. 2 adults and 2 kids, ages 5 and 3. We're spending the night prior at Ron Jon's, then 4 days on the Wonder, and then 2 nights at the Poly. We've been on several cruises, but there were 7-10 days so unpacking was worth it for that long of a period of time. I guess I just don't want to spend all my time packing and unpacking. Is there room in the closet to lay 2 suitcases down on the floor side by side? I would pull the clothes out of the hang up bag. I just wondered if I'd be wasting too much precious ship time or if there was enough room in the closet to not really unpack. WE have an SPR room so no steamer trunk (so I'm understanding from reading here, but I don't really know what I'm missing since this will be my first disney cruise). THanks.

I would unpack. Especially since on the Wonder you have the last full day as a sea day so you can slip packing in between other activities without rushing so much. To me, living out of a suitcase isn't relaxing.

Pretty sure there's not enough room to lay two suitcases in the closet. One suggestion that I've seen for children is to put complete outfits including underwear ziploc bags. Then you just grab a bag for each kid and they get dressed. That would make unpacking pretty quick, just move the bags from the suitcase to the drawer.

Another thought is to put the stuff you plan to wear on the cruise in one suitcase and the stuff for the Poly in another. Then leave the stuff for the Poly packed.

You'll have fewer clothes on the 4 day than you would on the 7 day so you should have enough space.

Yes, we definately unpack, since the cabins are small and we don't want to be bringing the luggage in and out, in and out of the closet, or from under the bed.

We unpacked for our 4 day cruise.....We've done 4 three days prior and always used the drawers and stuff...

I have no choice in the matter I could live out of a bag for months on end but the wife just wont have it !!

I always argue with my wife about this. I unpack on every trip because I think if you don't unpack you don't feel settled in.

I unpacked for the first time ever on our 3 day cruise. I was determined to feel like I was living there, just for a bit. And it did make things easier - the cabins are a bit tight.

Beware the missing steamer trunk in 7132 and probably a few others as well--it cut down on the available storage.

Yes, definitely unpack! I always unpack on the 3 day cruise! You will feel more settled, and "at home"....although much better, LOL!

And you will want to get the suitcases out of the way as much as possible...you just don't have the room. We usually unpack things, some goes on hangers, some on the shelves, etc...and then keep our suitcases in the closet. If your suitcases are not structured, they should fit under the bed.

That's what we've always done on the Land/Sea trips. That way you'll never have to open the suitcase(s) for Poly while you're on the ship. Also, if you repack the clothes you've worn each day into the empty suitcase, you'll have less to pack on the last day.

Something we have used in situations where we may not want to unpack everything is a set of packing cubes. They are individual "pockets" that you can use to group and separate clothing. You can use them to organize your clothes for each day, then pull out the one you want for that day without having to go through all of your items. We picked ours up at a site called ebags. Here is a link so you can see what I am describing:

Trust me, this is not advertisement by any means, but I think they are great and come in handy in situations such as yours. Hope this helps.
