Do you twitter?

None of my friends Twitter about clipping toenails or what they ate (unless it was free pastries at Starbucks today) It is great for keeping up with breaking news.

While there are ghostwriter celebrity accounts (Britany Spears, Justin Timberlake, Jason Mraz) they make no secret that it is an assistant. There are also LOTS of people who do maintain their own accounts. Demi and Ashton obviously but John Cusack, Bob Woodruff, Sarah Silverman, Anderson Cooper, the Kardashians, all the "Girls Next Door," Alyssa Milano, Nicole Ritchie (but Paris Hilton is likely a ghostwriter.)

Lots of athletes are 'real' Dwight Howard, Shaq, Bruce Bowen....

I swear I'm not a celebrity twitter stalker. I did some research for work about who was 'real' and who isn't.

You either get it or you don't.

I think it is very useful for following breaking local news situations, like storms that cause road closures, etc., or for keeping up with micro-events within larger events, such as festivals or conventions. I would love it if WDW would create official accounts for posting wait times automatically.

Gossip and celebrity updates? No, not my thing.

I don't see the point either. Whatever you don't remember to tell me about the next time you see me/email me/talk to me on the phone probably isn't worth my knowing about.

Love following NPR and CNN -

I'm Big Brother obsessed, and am following lots of BB stuff!

I also was following Al Roker - but he was obsessed, and I quit following him! I am following Paula Deen - and today the tweet was Phil was typing but it was Paula's words!! :rotfl2:

What I dont "get" is if I "reply" to a celeb (Sheri Shephard, Betheney from Real Houswives of NY) to they see those replies? or only if they "follow" me?

I absolutely am not getting that part - they have 50,000+ followers, if every follower responded - they couldnt handle it -

so what is the point of following them?

yes and i love it! its like a mini blog and i can see what celebrities are up to!

I´m @Inga_Ros on Twitter and I tweet pretty much. Follow very few celebrities but love meeting new people through Twitter, both professionally and personally. I even attended a Twitter conference in NYC in June (140 Characters conference). I have approx. 1500 followers and follow just about as many.

I'm a tweet follower, mostly. I update my Twitter, it updates my Facebook .. so I'm all good there. I love following Us Weekly, Anderson Cooper, etc.

What I don't understand is the #whatevertopic and the trending topics.

I'm trying to get the hang of it and not convince myself at 41 I'm too old. :upsidedow

@MichelleVW -- I don't tweet or read tweets about Jon and Kate. Can you believe it?

LOL....I don't follow any J&K tweets either! I get enough info from our one thread to keep me informed.

I don't get the trending topics either...I just tweet my boring old tweets that make my family laugh and follow a few celebs and that's it.

I do like taking pics with my phone and updating my twitter that way...I know that when the girls are not at home they like to see my tweets about the animals and see their pics. :thumbsup2

I'm on twitter, and it's just another way to pass the time on the computer for me, kind of like the Community Board on the Dis! Not too many of my friends or family are on, but I like getting the news updates from USA Today and the fitness stuff from Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper (Biggest Loser). I follow a couple of the country music stars, and my sports teams. I think it's fun, but I don't get too many tweets sent through to my phone. I mostly check it out on line.
