Do you tip the tattoo artist? Help quick!

So I'm going to get a tattoo tonight and I just had a thought - do I tip him? He is also the owner, but I don't know if that makes a difference. and how much? It's been so long since I got a tattoo (16 years) that I was just a kid the last time and truly don't remember - thanks!

I would offer 20%. Don't be surprised if the owner turns it down.

I'm going to say the same-- offer it, but if he declines, that's OK. It's hard to say because you usually tip tattoo artists, but he's also the business owner, whom you usually don't tip in other businesses.
