Do you tip the maid, and how much?

We leave a tip on T&T day. Also when checking out. We try to leave it in small bills, so if there is more than one person cleaning she can easily share it with coworkers.

I don't tip.

But I do leave any extra unused food or drinks we have left over with a note for them.

Great idea! We always leave $5 or $10 depending on the size of the villa we're in, but I never thought about the possiblity of more than one housekeeper.

I haven't been impressed with the Mouse-keeping services and haven't tipped at DVC. I just got back from Fiesta Americana Grande in Los Cabos, MX and tipped housekeeping everyday. They were fantastic. The resort provided the best service I've ever seen. Incredible resort and service!

Last time we stayd at the BCV, a maid saw us leaving - she had her cart down the hall and was coming out to get something. When we go to the elevator, I remembered something I left and returned to the room. The maid from down the hall was in the room and had taken the tip I left with a thank you note. We usually leave $30 for a week. I called the front desk. So much for leaving tips. Part of me was compassionate, knowing these folks don't make a great deal.

I usually tip Mousekeeping, but I also wonder why I tip them but not others, like the bus drivers. They are just as helpful.

We just got back from an 9 day visit in a 2 br at BCV. I tipped mousekeeping $15 on full cleaning day, $10 on TT & $15 when we left. We had 7 (5 were female teens) in our room so things were a bit cluttered. The maids did a nice job and checked on us nearly every day to see if we needed anything (even before we gave them the first tip).

Thanks for the tips on tips! :-)

I'm staying 5 nights at VGC so only one T&T and I wasn't sure what I should leave. Does DVC provide envelopes? Do you just leave it lying underneath a glass with a note?

I usually leave the tip very visibly with a brief thank you note on the kitchen counter, or kitchenette area. I was once advised to never leave it on the bedstand because of the possible lewd insinuation of such an action. Of course, that was for overseas travel.

I usually keep the Do not Disturb sign on the door during my visit because I don't like people in my room because I usually have stuff EVERYWHERE! When I do leave I usually only leave a couple of dollars because I try to leave the room as clean as possible. Once I left $30 because we were in a 2 bedroom and the room was a mess and I felt horrible for the mousekeeper who was going to be cleaning our room!

We do tip conceirge level because the service was wonderful, that being said We do not tip regular room stay until the end ,that was I can judge if it is worth it ,and the times we have stayed in regular rooms all they did was drop towels off and empty the very little garbage that we had ,they didn't pull any sheet up on the beds I really don't think that is worth a tip
