do you tip the concierge lounge staff?

We are don't plan to use the concierge staff (AKL) for any special requests - but we do plan to enjoy the breakfast snacks, wine in the evenings, and other general offerings.
Do you tip for that service? How much? And when - each day or one tip at the end of your stay?

(We already have our envelopes ready for the Mousekeepers :angel: )
 
If I remember right they aren't allowed to accept tips. i did bring a box of chocolate from a local gormet chocoltier. One for the IPO staff and one for the lounge staff as a thank you
 
When we were at the GF last July, we were told that the concierge staff does not accept tips...

We do something along the same lines and make up some type of basket of candies / snacks that can be shared among the staff. Each time we have done it we have been told it was not necessary, but to my wife and I it is just one simple way we can say thank you for making the trip memorable, and helping us relax.
 

We either bring or send thank you items, like a basket or whatever. The actual staff you mention that serves and cleans up...we've been told that they cannot accept tips but we have managed to have a few take a small denomination Gift Card as a token of our gratitude.
 
They do not accept tips but I hear if the guests are persistent they will and turn it over to management where it's put in a pool. I typically don't tip unless they've went above and beyond the call of duty. I've done gift cards and gift baskets. I always send IPO gift baskets. I know I'm a royal PITA. :rotfl2: I'm the queen of indecisiveness. ::yes:: :rolleyes:
 
They will turn down a gratuity when offerred but a tip left on the table when you leave can not be refused. Last year I sent the IPO staff a box of Bernard Callebaut chocolates but hindsight has me thinking - if we are all doing this, just how sweet a tooth can these folks have?
 
Itinerary Planning Office - when staying concierge you have access to these folks in planning your vacation - from ADR's, tours, etc.
 
That is great to know, just in case I ever were fortunate enough to get that free upgrade. :rotfl:
 
Will the IPO people that I have been dealing with through E-Mails actually be there? I would like to thank them for all of the work they went through with my ADR's and Specialty Cruise plans.
 
At AKL they have their own office (it is actually a converted hotel room) down the hall from the front lobby desk. I know some hotels share IPO personel.
