Do you tip for horse riding lessons??

I always tipped in NYC, but not 18 percent. More like $5 on about a $50 lesson. It's been about 10 years so I don't remember exact amounts.

My daughter has been taking riding lessons for about 6 years now.. NEVER taxed or tipped....

I didn't pay tax or tip for my lessons, but that was 25 years ago.

You should NOT pay tax; you are being provided a service and services are not taxable. I can maybe, kinda, if I stretch my mind really far, see how maybe a tip could be given IF one feels the service has been exemplary, but I wouldn't like to be told the gratuity is mandatory.

See if you can get your money refunded by Groupon. Its worth a shot.

Wow! I guess I need to appreciate our stable a bit more... We pay 25.00 per hour for one 1-hr private lesson a week. They provide the tack, they provide the horse (usually the same beloved one) but they switch up occasionally depending on what's been happening that day at the stable. Dd8 usually spends the first 15 minutes brushing the horse, picking it's hooves, generally getting her ready. They ride for 1/2 hour then 15 minutes of post-ride care with the horse.

I'm for the "city"...so I feel completely out of my element when we go out there..so I'm sure I'm not even describing what they do correctly. However, it's a nice clean stable out in the middle of nowhere rural Ohio.

I would definately call Groupon like some pp have suggested. They will refund your money so you can purchase a more reliable groupon. Plus with your feedback, they might choose to not offer this place again! Good luck!

Called groupon and got my money back. So nice and no hassle.
