Do you think we'll have problems?

Hi all

Just thinking about our ADRs for next years trip - for most meals there will be 9 of us, 6 adults and 3 kids (one who will be under 3yrs old). Its my Mum's 60th trip so most of them are real special events for the whole group.

We plan to try and secure ADRs for:

Crystal Palace Breakfast
Boma dinner
Ohana's Dinner (early dinner!)
Sci-Fi Dine In (early lunch)
Rainforest Cafe at AK (early breakfast)
Cinderella's Castle - but only the 4 girls for this! (breakfast)
Garden Grill dinner

I guess I am stupid to think we would all get on one table? So would they book a table of 4 and table of 5? Should we ask for 2 tables of 4 (as my little boy doesn't take up much room  ) or should I just wait and see what they can do?

Only ever booked for 4 people and then 2 people before - so 9 will be interesting! :rotfl:

I look forward to your advice!

Thanks, Julie xxx

Best thing to do is call the moment you can at the 180 day mark and not give up calling until you get the reservation you want or on the flight home. I called two days before I was due to leave for Florida WDW and I secured Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner at 4:00PM on the last full day I was there. It made a 19 y o princess very happy. I have heard so many people complain that they can't get such and such. The reason is the give up calling and checking. If you see a thread that someone got such and such because they were persistant in checking (oline and calling). So don't give up hope if you don't get that reservation the first time you call. One last bit sometimes it is best to secure a later reservation or earlier if you can't get the one you want. We went at 4:00PM to CRT and had reservations at 4:25 (we were really tired that day because we had been pushing ourselves all week) and got in early. So sometimes it pays to check if you can get in early when you get there. If they can accomodate you they will. If not just be polite and wait for your reservation.

One last thing don't be so tied to Cinderalle's Royal Table. this is the hardest reservation to make and you have about 3,000 other callers on the same day as you trying to make the reservation. If you read the WDW Unofficial Guide they have it down to the minute and second in which you are to call the reservation in. I am not kidding as funny as it sounds. If you can't get CRT then check out the 1900 Garden State Fair or whatever its called. Cinderalla appears there as well so I am told.

There is actually a group dining number you call and they will help you. I went a couple of years ago with 12 and I called them. We sat together everywhere except Crystal Palace. The tables were next to each other so that was fine. Good luck!

Actually, they don't have a general group# now (except for Grand Gathering events). You call the restaurants individually if they won't allow bookings of a certain #. The only one you have to worry about calling directly is Rainforest Cafe. For 9 or more you have to call them directly 407-938-9100.

I think it's better to book all 9 at once. That way the restaurant knows ahead of time that you want to be together/close to each other.

Good luck!
