Do you think US/IOA will ever offer the $99/7 day ticket again?

Crowds have been pretty heavy. I can't see any reason for them to be needing to discount tickets that drastically.

Another question about the $99.00/7 day ticket:

This past year when the $99.00/7day tickets were offered, I bought three online and printed them off (one for my May solo trip and then one each for me and my husband for our Oct trip). When I was there in May, I took one look at Universal and knew I'd love it so went ahead and upgraded that first 7 day ticket to an AP. When I went back last week, I just used that AP of course, but now have that extra $99.00/7 day paper ticket I printed off last January. I plan on using my AP again for a couple of days during my upcoming Dec WDW trip and then plan on running over to Universal for a couple of days again in May during another WDW trip before the AP expires on May 6th. My question is: will that third $99.00/7 day ticket still be valid next Sept, if I decide to upgrade it to an AP? It would be about 20 months old, but never used (or would it be better to go ahead and just renew my current AP when I'm there in May, even though I wouldn't need it again until late Sept)? I suppose that if the $99.00 ticket is still good that I'd only get credit for the $99.00 I paid for it, or are they like Disney and if the ticket is used first, then upgraded you get the current gate price?:confused3 I believe I've read that Universal offers a discount if you renew your AP before the old one expires. If so, could I still apply that extra $99.00 ticket to that reduced price or since I wouldn't be back until Sept would it be better to bypass the discount and take advantage of the extra months I'd get if I bought a new AP in Sept? I know when my WDW APs expire I usually just let them expire then buy a new one on my next trip, in order to get the extra time on the new passes. Thanks!

Yes, it will still be good until it is activated. You can't apply the price of another ticket to the upgrade of a different ticket.

I'm KICKING myself for not buying another set of those $99 tickets after our trip in 2009 :headache:. We had such a blast!

Now I'm confused. I'll be at WDW May 6th when my current Universal AP expires. If I go to Universal that day, I would not be able to renew that AP for another year, applying the $99.00 ticket toward's that renewal?

You can upgrade your $99 ticket to a new annual pass at regular cost. I don't believe you can transfer the price of an unused other ticket to the renewal cost. However, there is no harm in asking. We've had great experience with Universal Guest Services. Perhaps you should give them a call in advance.

Personally, I would just hang on to the $99 ticket. It will never expire.

Yeah...I agree. No reason to discount when people are still coming in droves.

OK, understanding the $99 tickets are gone, where is the best (cheapest) place to buy tickets these days?
