I am budgeting $200 a day for a family of 4, me, dh, DD(17) and DS(3) for everything. We have 1 PS a day for either breakfeast or Lunch and for dinner we will eat outside the park since we have a car. I have my tip money saved separately for housekeeping and the people who bring your luggage. I keep thinking we are not going to have enough money. I know I am probally worrying for nothing. Please let me know what you think. Thanks Michelle

Have you seen the menus on Deb Will's website? The url is www.wdwig.com. They may help you figure out a more specific food budget for your on-site meals. When you say that the $200 is for everything, I assume that means souveniers, snacks and any extras like boat or bike rentals. As long as no one plans to spend alot on those things, $200 should be plenty. You might want to consider bringing along some food for a few easy meals in the room, though. This could save you alot of time & money as well as just give you a little peace of mind in case you start to go over your budget some days. Hope this helps.:)

Hi Mish!

I am not a Disneyworld budgeting expert (in fact, I posted my own thread to ask the expert Disers if I was taking enough money, too. ;) )

However, I agree with crusoe2. It seems like you should be fine on the $200.00 a day budget as long as you don't get carried away with souvenirs. I remember when I was little, my parents took my sister and I to Disneyworld. We went for five days. My parents gave my sister $50.00 and me $50.00 for the week. My sister and I had to buy our own souvenirs. And, if we wanted junk food snacks, we had to purchase these with our money, too. My sister and I bought a few snacks each, we each bought a T-shirt, a pair of sunglasses, and I bought a ring. I had $20.00 left over that my mom let me keep (and this was BIG bucks for a 7 year old). This idea probably wouldn't work for a three year old, but it may be a nice idea for your 17 year old. That way, you already know in advance how much money you'll be spending on souvenirs and snacky foods for your DD.

As for meals, crusoe2 gave you great advice once again! I've read a lot of posts where Disers have taken food with them. This way, you can prepare a quick, inexpesive breakfast or lunch in the room. In addition, I've read about people taking a box of bottled water with them (if you're driving). You can take these into the parks instead of buying expensive bottled water in the Disney theme parks (Walmart even sells the little bottled water ice cubes that are long and cylindrical so that they fit in the water or juice bottle opening).

Hope this helps a bit! Oh, by the way, I'll be in Disneyworld at the same time as you. We're staying at the AKL Nov 3- Nov 8. Maybe we'll see each other (I'll be wearing my lime green ribbon)! Have a great trip! :)

Thanks, I am sure we will have enough, I am going to get some stuff for breakfeast to keep in the room and some snacks, I also have the Britta bottles for water. We were there last year this time so we wont need to many souveniers. DD(17) has also saved some of her own spending money.

Queenofhearts, We will be there the 2 to the 10. We are staying at the Poly thanks to CB closing. I am hoping to run into some people from the boards, My DD got us some lime green ribbon which we will tie to our bags. Michelle

Disnee Dad Says......................That will be plenty. WE are three and $100 covers everything. But we only rent a boat or bike maybe once or twice on a trip, some great lunches but few great dinners. You can often get lunch prices up to around 4pm. Not too many trinkets anymore either.
