Do you think the AK AP pin will last?

HI Everyone,

I bought the Epcot AP Parade pin on ebay, so I do not know how long it took to sell out. I was wandering how long everyone thinks the new Animal Kingdom AP parade pin will last after its release on June 1st???
I will be arriving at WDW on June 16 and that will be my first day as an Annual Passholder and would love to buy this pin.
Since it is a higher edition size of 7500 and limited to AP's, do you think it will last 16 days?
Will anyone else be in WDW June 16-22 or July 1-6?
Thanks,
Matt

I've been a Passholder for years, but only get to WDW once a year. :( So, I bought the two Passholder pins off Ebay too. I'm not holding out any hope that the 3rd in the series will be available when we arrive (6/29). The 7500 will go fast to those that resell them. Even a limit of 2 per day per passholder I don't think will last 4 weeks.

Anyhow, we are planning on being in the world the week of July 4th. :):D:)

I think the concept of two per day is outrageous. Any item which is restricted to Annual Passholders should be limited to a certain number per pass. When a person makes a purchase, they should have to present their AP and it should be scanned by the register. It would then go to a central computer and record that pass has reached its allowable limit for the item. If an attempt is made to use the pass for additional purchases of the same item, it should reject the sale or even giveaway, if that is the case. If something is limited, the limit should be strictly enforced.

This way if there are 7,500 pins, there will be 3,750 people (or more as some people will get only one) who will be able. Allowing two per day will probably restrict it to fewer than 1,000 people. Also, there is nothing to stop someone from going to multiple locations on the same day.

Cheshire Figment,
You are right! It's not really fair. You know that certain AP holders will go back multiple times on multiple days. Actually, they should mail the offer to AP holders with the option to purchase 2, then if they don't, the remainder could be sold in the parks!:D:):D

Sorcerer_Matt,
Wear your green ribbons! I'll keep an eye out! :)

I think the rules as they stand now just perpetuate the selling of them. Can't Disney see that? They would make out better selling the unsold themselves. I agree....2 per PASS. End of story.

lest we all forget Disney is in the pin business to make $$$$$ they make alot of $$$$$ on pins and they bank on the same people spending all their money on whatever new pin is available at the time. They do not want to have to sell them at 50% at the CM stores later on as has happened with many LE pins that were not hot sellers. For Disney this started as a way to foster communication back in 1999 (anyone remember celebrate the future hand in hand?) Now it is only about $$$$ for Disney!

Just got back from WDW. Had no problem at all getting the new AP pin (#3) on the first day. I got mine in MK around 1pm and they still had tons. Would anyone like to trade the 2nd AP pin for one of the new ones. We had a wonderful time!!! But my goodness it was HOT!!!

Hi Tinkerbarb,

I was at WDW in April and got the 2nd passholder pin (the Epcot one). I would love to trade for the third one (the AK one).

I'm almost positively sure they will be gone by the time I get there on 6/29. Actually won't get into the AK park until 6/30. I guess I'll have to buy one from Ebay, unless someone else is going and willing to pick one up for me. :D

Where will the pin be available? We will be arriving June 13th and I'd love to be able to get one.

I just bought an AP AK pin on e-bay. I tried to get the 2nd pin when I visited in the parks a few months after the release. Of course it was sold out. They offered me the first pin which they had re-issued, and I didn't need. I told them why bother to call it an AP pin when most of the AP holders can't buy them. If it's an AP pin then all AP holders should be able to purchase them. They just gave me a blank stare,, oh well. I think they would sell more if they let all AP holders buy them (one per pass). It's hard living so far away. I'm not going to hop on a plane for a day just to buy a pin... at least there's e-bay!
