Do you think Six Flags will ever take over the Disney Parks

Hi everyone,

This is just a thought and kind of a rumor. With all the trouble Disney is in (with Comcast trying to do a hostile take-over and possible other companies wanting to buy Disney). I read an article that stated that if Comcase did take over Disney - they would have no interest in the parks and sell that part of the company to a big name in the theme park industry. There are some theories out there that Six Flags will want to take them over (God Forbid). What do you think would happen to the Disney resort empire if a third party took it over and ran it for Disney??

I for one hate Six Flags and I think if they ever put their dirty little hands on Disney (it would be the beginning of the end for the parks and resorts).

I hope not they can't even run the parks that they do have. Their guest service is horrible, cleaning what is that according to them, and we thought maintenance was starting to get bad at Disney.

No, Six Flags will never take over Disney. They don't have the cash or the reputation that would be required. They're in the process of selling parks as it is to handle their own debt. And Disney shareholders are not likely to approve anything involving any other theme park company -- Six Flags, Paramount, Cedar Fair, Busch, Universal -- taking over Disney.

:earsboy:

Our Six Flags in Ohio was recently taken over by Cedar Point. It was an awful place! Hopefully, the takeover might mean 6 Flags isn't doing well.

The employees at our local Six Flags are horrible. Mostly teenagers with little or no interest in customer service. The ride operators are especially frightening. Half the time they're busy chatting with their co-workers. Makes me want to run out of the line at the Superman when I see that.

No matter what people say about Disney CM's - they're world's ahead of anything Six Flags has to offer.

Ah, the old Six Flags in Central Florida rumor. This has been around for years. . . . . . . . . . . .

Disney is light years ahead of Six Flags. Not even close. Our local Six Flags is horrible. You see untrained teenagers with a bad attitude who do nothing but chat to their boyfriends on their cell phones while working the rides.   Trash everywhere and not a smile in sight. I only go there because it's near by. Six Flags has no clue about adding imagination and charm to a park. All you see is concrete and beams and then they throw out a Nsync boys band clone (horrible to say the least) that only appeals to teenage girls 12-14. Sad...very sad.

Disney is the BEST!!

Six flags, what do I think of?

Trash
Peeling paint
Closed rides due to lack of help
broken benches and warped, breaking wood
cut rate entertainment pitiful of an elementary school talent show
long lines because they only open half the rides
ashault and cheap carnival games fully staffed while the rides
unstaffed and closed

Sorry to be so negative, lots of bad experiences. I do not believe they could ever take over Disney for lack of money. If they did, Universal, Seaworld, and Busch Garden would jump for joy as then they would be the only quality parks.

Six flags sold their park in OH and their operations in europe. Only made about 330 million for both. That doesn't sound like a financial empire able to gobble up a mulitbillion dollar operation.

At least Six Flags is cheaper than Disney

its cheaper because its crap. please excuse my wording. but i hate going there. i go there like once every year and thats only because some of my friends never had the disney experience and wanna take a trip down to WDW instead. six flags just sucks. if it ever did happen...i would be very VERY disappointed.

jus my 2 pennies.

I would think it more likely that Comcast would spin the parks off and give shareholders the ability to turn in Comcast shares for Theme Park shares. Comcast could remain a significant shareholder to continue to recognize a revenue stream without worrying about it being outside their core competency. That being said, I don't think this scenario will happen either. The parks make cash and as Disney does now, they use it as a cash cow to fund their losers such as ABC.

Six Flags taking over Disney?

Isn't that one of the Seven Signs of the End Times?

Yikes, they turned NJ's once classy and beautiful Great Adventure into the filthy and frightening Gang Adventure. No thanks.
