I think as long as cigarettes are legal, pot should be legal.
Cigarettes cause WAY for health-related problems in the long run, and puts those around smokers at risk too....and that is legal because...?
Pot also has alot of effects in common with heavy drinking, the same risks are involved with alcohol as with pot (doing stupid things, DWI)
I don't really understand why it's not legal.

I remember a few yrs back there was this big thing where they ALMOST legalized pot in Toronto but then didn't. I truly don't understand how it's any worse than heavy drinking, and I certainly don't understand why smoking cigarettes is socially more acceptable, when the health risks are astronomical.

I think as long as there are taxes and laws (DUI and everything) placed on it, then yes, it should be legal.

Pot doesn't make you do stupid things. It's not a hallucinator. Basically all it does is relax your body, but it doesn't impair your decision making. My friends use to do it and it never impaired them at all.

alcohol isn't a hallucinator either, and it makes you do stupid things...
pot does impair your judgment, the same way that alcohol does.
i'm not saying it makes you do stupid things like ecstasy would (ie; jumping off a building, or trying to eat a knife when you think it's a banana) but when you're drunk or high (from pot), you definitley do things you wouldn't normally do.

and trust my it makes you do stupid things. lol

We live in the land of the free. We are allowed to do anything we want to our person, simply because we have freedom.

Tylenol can kill your body if you take too much of it. Guess we should just live through the pain huh?

ETA: The people who do stupid things while on pot are the people who think that pot makes people do stupid things. And the people who get energy from Five Hour Energy are the people who think that Five Hour Energy actually provides energy. It's all in our heads.

They keep the harmful things legal because it sells, good for the economy.
Everything comes down to money, not if its safe or not, these days.

i think its rather hypocritical to allow incredibly dangerous tobacco to be sold, allow any amount of alcohol to be sold, but not allow marijuana to be sold.

but then again, i think brothels should be legal.
