Do you think my friend is pulling my leg?

I have a friend who claims to be a model. She claims to model for vogue, Ralph Lauren and more, and to have won several beauty contests.

I'm generally quite trusting but my friend, although lovely, is no taller than 5', kind of chubby and has no particularly 'beautiful' features. Of course as her friend I think she's pretty, but in model terms she certainly doesn't fit the prototype!

Do you think she might be lying to me? She lives in the caribbean and I'm in the UK so I have no way of knowing if she's telling me the truth, but it just seems strange....

There are models of all shapes and sizes. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Ask to see some of her photos. Most models have a portfolio that they are more than happy to show off.

The only thing I can think of is that she's a hand or foot model... I know a girl who is about 5'4" with a few extra pounds and although she's attractive, she's not gorgeous...but she's got the most beautiful hands. She makes a nice living as a hand model.

It's a great job for her, she only works a few days a month and her mom watches their kids when she goes into NYC for a shoot. The rest of the time she's a SAHM. She makes as much after paying a housekeeper and travel costs as she would working 9-5 every day.
