Do you think its unhygenic to keep reading material in the toilet/bathroom?

I understand the idea behind closing the toilet lid before flushing. I'm not opposed to it. I guess I just figure that if it were really such a problem we'd all be dead or something.

I'm sure there are a lot of things in daily life that are gross but won't kill us, but that doesn't mean I want to experience them if I can avoid it :thumbsup2

We call the bathroom our library. And why would you be concerned about the hygenic aspect? It's not like you're wiping your bottom with the book and then reading it afterwards. We have a whole stack of newspapers, magazines, and cheesy novels next to the toilet. When I was younger, I sometimes did my homework in the bathroom. It's a nice place to sit and read. It's nice and bright, cool, and the toilet seat is actually really comfy.

In the toliet :scared1: In the bathroom

While in WDW once a rude Brazillian walked up and asked me where the toilets were... I told her in the bathroom and walked away..:lmao::rotfl::laughing:

What's so rude about that? I know in England, it is proper to ask where the toilet is, not the 'bathroom'.

Why would you sit there for 30 minutes waiting to go- get up and come back later when you really do have to go....

Consider yourself very lucky that you don't have any of the issues addressed below - as well as others.. :goodvibes Never having experienced these issues, it's understandable that you wouldn't have the ability to comprehend why this is necessary for some people..

It's not that simple. For people with IBS or Crohn's Disease, you could be there for awhile..

To name but a few.. :( Not fun!!

Maybe it was something else she did, but I don't see what's so rude about calling a bathroom a toilet, in many countries, that's what it's called, since the room with the toilet and the room with the bath are separate rooms. If you ask them for a bathroom, they'll think you meant the room with the bathtub/shower. You learn quick when you're traveling and ask for a bathroom in a restaurant, only to be told they don't have those there.

for those of us with IBS...reading material is a must....

hygene smygene:laughing: this topic makes me laugh:laughing:

I don't keep any in there but Mom takes a puzzle book and drink in there for those "extended visits".

Usually several cats will visit while I'm in there and I end up petting them the whole time.
