If the AvatarLand and the new night time show do as well as disney is Projected it will do..

i actually think since it sold out it has already been harder.

I'm not sure about the new show i havent heard a lot of people who are interested in Avatar but it will be nice to have evening offerings at AK.

I think that every change or add that Disney makes causes availability to be more of a challenge and attendance to increase. That's why Disney makes the changes and adds.

Buy where you love to stay!

I don't think so. IMO, since transportion from AKL to DAK is via bus (like every other resort), I don't see Avatar land having a lasting impact on AKL. At least not the way, say Star Wars at DHS could affect Boardwalk and Beach Club. And I'm not sure Avatar is going to be a huge draw anyway...

As the more desirable resorts fill up, AKV will catch the over flow. PVB will be selling a ton of points due to the bungalows that will cause PVB owners to book somewhere else when the PVB studios are booked.

I voted that it would have a temporary impact.
I own at AKL though - and I book my value studio at 11 + 10, so I'm safe! There's no other resort I'd rather stay at!

Limited time events such as Food & Wine and Star Wars weekends and even races, have had an impact on choice of resorts to some extent. However, in the past, the appearance of a new land, rides, or other year round events at a park has had no noticeable impact on degree of demand at particular DVC or other resorts. Avatarland and a new night time show may pull more into AK and to WDW and its resorts in general but doubtful it will change demand for AKL except possibly for a short "new" attraction time period

At 7 month window for the more popular time periods, always had a hard time getting the type of unit I wanted (value or standard studio). Finally added on there:flower1:

I see no correlation between the location of the park to the lodge as adding to desirability since you have to drive or board a bus. Another 10 minutes one way or the other from the various onsite resorts isn't a big advantage. It's different at BLT & the BW resorts since they are walkable.

This. Exactly this.

Actually, meaning no insult to the OP; when I first saw the poll, I giggled a little. Really? You actually think Avatarland will affect guest attendence levels at AKL/AKK? My bet would be zero effect, but really, we'll never know, except what we see booking during the period and that will only be observations and certainly not valid statistical data.

Not one room difference IMO.

If AKL/AKV had its own entrance or walkway to AK AND there was a Pandora attraction that warranted a rope drop sprint, then yes, I could see this as a possibility. However, because AKL/AKV requires bus service to AK, there is no advantage over any of the other resorts.

I totally agree, actually there are probably times guest at BCV and BWV get to AK before AKV guests do.

I doubt it, unless there's a real issue with the bus! AKL is literally a five minute drive and its a dedicated bus. Kidani and Jambo only.

jmho

I :cloud9: AK but have found over the years their bus service is consistently slower than most of the other resorts, especially off peak.

It really doesn't take much longer once the bus appears to stop at both resorts but it is two stops & I'm a type A person:o. I avoid using AKVs bus service unless alcohol will be involved...then I'm relaxed enough it doesn't matter how long it takes:rolleyes1

Interesting! I stay at AKL two weeks every year and can count on one hand how many times I've waited too long for the bus.
When I stayed at the Dolphin though, the bus was a daily issue. Not only did it often pass us by completely because it was full, but once we managed to get on one it would stop at three or four more places!
