Do you need to tell the CM that you're going to use the dining plan before you order? Does it make a difference if it's a TS or a CS meal? And with the buffets do you have to tell the CM when they take your drink order? Thanks. :)

Usually they ask right up front. If not, we made sure to let them know...then they let us know if there were any exceptions, or gave us suggestions.

It helps all the way around to say, upfront, that you're using "CS credits" or "TS credits" or "DP snack credits" for this purchase -- makes life easier for the CM and eliminates any possible confusion/conflict (not so much at TS, but sometimes it's not crystal clear what will or won't count as a snack or be included in a CS meal). If you have the plan and don't specify, you'll usually get asked if you intend to use DP credits for your purchase.

We did tell our servers at buffets that we'd be using DP credits for the meal -- just made life easier for everyone to know the plan.

We just returned on Friday from a 10 day trip with the Dining plan and every table service resturant we had dinner at already knew we were on the dining plan from the ADR reservation card. It was noted on the card, and they would just confirm that we were using the plan for each of us.

As for snacks and counter service, we would just mention it right before we ordered and it was never an issue.

We throughly enjoyed the Dining plan!
