Do you talk to your pets?

If my dogs ever learn to talk I am in big trouble. I talk to my dogs all the time.

Due to health issues, my cat stayed with my parents when I moved out, so when I call and get their answering machine, I will say 'Winder, this is your sister...will you please tell Mommy and Daddy....' Crazy!

My dad is not a cat person, so of course the cat is always on his lap watching TV with him, and my dad will pet him and say 'You are an Old Fat Cat, and you're annoying me.' And the cat just sits there purring as my dad pets him. He is very vocal and sassy, and when you scold him for something, he'll sass you! The cat, not my dad, I mean.

And when my cats do something bad they get reprimanded in German. The worlds only British bred, American born, German speaking Siamese cats!

Yes, and they talk back. My mom has "conversations" with our female cat and our male cat says "Ma-ma!" every time he wants food. It was cute at first and now it just gets on our nerves when he whines!!

Until now I didn't realize how many other people talk to their pets. Usually when people find out that I do they give me very strange looks and remind me that they aren't people. Well to me they are my babies. I couldn't get through life sometimes without their love.

I talk to mine all the time. When I leave some of them are always looking out at me from the living room window and I have to tell them bye again and tell them that I love them even though I'm in the car and they can't hear me. I even have a little wave I have to give them.

My cats and I talk all the time..I even know there different meows for different things.Feed me,Pet me...They even meow when I set their food down.I swear they are saying thanks

Same here! When I set the food down, they look up and look me in the eyes and give me a thank you meow.

Whenever I talk to them, I expect (and usually get) a response. One of mine is a squeaker though - sometimes she opens her mouth to talk, but nothing comes out.

My sweet kitty who passed away earlier this year was a tremendous conversationalist. She had these great polysyllabic meows sometimes!

Yeah...I ask stupid questions like:
"Why can't you pick up you own poop?"
"What are you barking at now?"
"Why do you eat better'n I do?"
"Who died and left YOU king of the bed?"

Of course!!!!! I always talk to my pet. They will 'talk' to me too. I could not imagine not talking to my pets. They are my family.
