Do you talk to your pets?

I actually feel rude if I walk through a room with one of my cats in it and I don't say anything to them. :rotfl:

I absolutely talk to our two dogs. But sometimes I think they get it. Our oldest Max, usually goes upstairs with me in the evenings to watch TV while our baby, Mickey stays with dad. I will tell Max to go pick out a toy and we'll have snuggle time upstairs and he'll wag his tail and do it! My fiance just laughs cause I think he's a genius! The problem, is trying to REASON with them....oy vay! They are worse than kids! :rotfl:

Of course I do. It's just Mickey and me most of the time so we talk all the time. And, he has the loudest purr-er ever! I'm not kiddin' :paw:

I tend to think that people who don't talk to their pets and treat them like members of their family are a little off. I talk to my cat, rabbit, dog, and turtles, and I swear they all understand me. In fact, DFi and I sometimes have to spell things out around the dog...except, sometimes, I think he understands what we're spelling as well, LOL. Also, I can't yell at the cat without the dog running over to him and "yelling" at him as well. It's really too cute.

Maddy does that too, when you set her water down, she nudges your arm with her nose :dog: :goodvibes

Yep, all the time! Actually I can't imagine having a pet in the house and not speaking to it... when the girls were younger they had betta's for pets and we even talked to them. I've even talked to the neighbors dog many times when she is outside.

Not only that, but we tend to talk FOR her - telling each other what she is saying! It's a sickness.

Us too!! I'm glad we're not alone :) :) I figured this was the best place to admit this, with all my fellow crazy animal fanatics :rotfl:

I do talk to our dog, cats, and cows....but sometimes they do such stupid stuff around here that I can't always repeat what I say to them! :sad2:

My DH would definetly say I talk to my kitties more than to him!! :teeth:

If my dogs ever learn to talk I am in big trouble. I talk to my dogs all the time.

Absolutely!! And mine talks back to me! Though sometimes she repeats stuff she shouldn't. She says the "F" word. But with such intensity, emotion and in a cute high pitched voice. Wonder where she got it from :rolleyes1

Well, of course. And my oldest dog reads my mind too.

I talk to Mac and Tipper all the time. They seem to like it and will grunt and bark back to me. Mac is sharp and understands quite a bit. I'm convinced he can spell P-O-R-K-C-H-O-P and C-O-O-K-I-E, his favorite words.

Yup, I talk to my baby all the time. Sometimes he answers, other times he gives me looks like "shut up I'm trying to sleep" :cat:

Well of coarse I do...doesn't everyone? :goodvibes How else would they know they've been good girls or bad girls? And the little does have a tendency to talk back to me at times. She moves her mouth and will have a conversation with you if she's in the mood. It would just be rude not to talk to her. :rotfl:

I talk to Oscar all of the time. He knows some words -- "time to feed the cats", "do you want to play in the basement?" "Shall I open the window for you?" -- mostly Pavlovian type stuff. I always find it amazing how well animals can communicate their wants and desires to observant humans.

The pug does that too... DH commented the other night when I'm in the kitchen and drop something I say d@mm!t... which prompts the dog to come running because it may mean food has fallen ffrom the heavens. Or so he thinks, LOL. :pug:

I talk to Bogart about everything and I talk for him all of the time. I make him say stuff like, "mommy you are so pretty i love you so much" and "mommy i don't like daddy i wanna bite him". It's not nearly as funny without hearing the voice I've made for him.

Peabody and I had a nice long chat last night about the finer points of Survivor. It's nice to have one man in my life that truly understands me because DH sure doesn't ;)
