Mine will be 12 and 14 when we go to WDW. I know that they are allowed in all but 2 of the clubs but I'm wondering if anyone has actually done this with teens.

If it's not really appropriate to take them to PI - could we leave them at DisneyQuest while we went to the clubs? I mean, I know we could - but would you do it with your teens? It's hard to tell how close DQ is to Pleasure Island from the maps.

Sure! Take them if they want to go in and have a look! But go early. This is what we do. We go right when they open the clubs with our DS and he has a ball dancing around. I would NOT take tweens to the Adventurer Club - expecially late - because the humor gets pretty raunchy in there later - the comedy club is the same.

I would also think that letting them go to DQ (as long as they are mature and responsible) would be a great option. IMHO, when I was that age - I would have rather have gone to DQ anyway instead of hanging out in a "boring old club." My DS is only 5 - that is why he loves dancing in the clubs - but I assume unless he is with a bunch of friends, he will choose DQ when he gets older.

Although she wasn't, still isn't for that matter, a teen we took our nine year old DD to PI on our last trip. We spent a heft amount of time in both the Adventures Club and the Comedy Club. I do agree though if you're concerned with content try to hit the clubs earlier in the evening to avoid more blue material. As it is my DD is more than familiar with blue humor (she's seen enough of my shows that most of it just rolls off her back and she knows what's what) so we didn't worry about it much since she's got a very sophisticated sense of humor.

We love these two clubs and probably hit them two or three times during a trip.

We've done both with DS/16 when he was younger. We used to bring him with us and we didn't feel uncomfortable in the clubs. When he was 11 he started going to DQ on his own or with a friend if we took on.

The key is knowing your child/ren and making decisions based on what you know, not what others will tell you is right.

Pleasure Island is for 12 and 14 year olds like Las Vegas is for 12 and 14 year olds. They are welcome most places, but they might not find a lot of fun things to do, and the later it gets, the less welcome (and appropriate) they are.

As always in parenting issues, the final call is up to you; YMMV.
