Do you spend more time away from the Parks?

We have been members since 2003 and have made yearly trips to WDW. Although we visit each park on our trips, we are enjoying more of what WDW offers outside the parks. Our DD is 9 so she is all about the rides.
Today we spent the morning at Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. What a great area. We took a boat ride from MK to WL. Walked the trail to Ft W where we saw some deer. Went to the horse ranch and got to pet horses and watch them shoe a horse. Just great! And all the campsites decorated for Halloween. we are watching a movie tonight down at the pool. We will go down to the Boardwalk resort one evening. Golf & Mini-golf..
Endless options. Disney continues to amaze us!

For our seven nights at OKW, we spent two full days not going anywhere except the pool. And the other days we spent a few hours at Epcot for F&W. We went to AK to ride the safari and left. We didn't go to DHS at all, except for the ToT 10 Miler (and that was an adventure). And we only went to MK twice, both times to eat.

We did spend a lot of time at the resort.

I have been to DisneyWorld several times (without the kids) and never stepped foot in a theme park. WDW is an incredible property that has so much to do (or not to do) that I actually enjoy the vacation even when we skip the parks.

We now spend more time outside the parks. On a recent 10 day stay, we ventured into Epcot once.

I enjoy watching the Christmas decorations being installed in the resorts.

We are currently using the DVC AP so we are in the parks more than usual, we buy the 10 day non expiration tickets for most of our stays.

We usually do only one or two days in the parks. WDW is a great resort; there are so many places to go and things to do out of the parks. And it's warmer than New Hampshire in February. :thumbsup2

Relatively new DVC owners & find with DVC we spend less time @ parks & more time enjoying all the resorts & all that WDW has to offer. We know it won't be long before our next trip so we are not "rushed" We look forward to checking out Wilderness Lodge/Ft Wilderness for our stay in December.

As time goes by, we spend less time in the parks.
We made the mistake of buying AP lasf Dec. Because of them, we feel obligated to do DVC vacations and park visits when we probably wouldn't have. We just don't enjoy the parks like we used to. And there is so much to do outside of them, we just enjoy so much more.

And we also don't enjoy dining in the parks anymore. Between the price and reservation restrictions, it just isn't that much fun anymore.

Agreed for WDW! Gladly, we still enjoy dining at the CA parks.

Overall, we visit the themeparks only a fraction of our overall DVC usage.
